LESSON PLAN

TOPIC : HOUSEHOLD ITEMS


STUDENTS’ AGE : 5 Years Old
DURATION : 35 Minutes
GOALS : At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to;
1. Remember and pronounce 10 kinds of household items
(Knife, Kettle, Ladle, Pan, Broom, Garbage, mop,
towel, doll, ball, puzzle, drawing book)
2. Able to sing song about of household items taught by
the teacher.
3. Children can distinguish between objects used for
cooking, cleaning and playing
METHOD : Demonstration Method

I. ACTIVITIES
A. Opening Activities (5 Minutes)
1. Greetings
2. Teacher check the students attendance list
3. Sing nursery rhymes about household objects to introduce some of the
name of objects “that is a cupboard, this is a chair, that is a table and
this is a lamp”
4. introducing pictures of household objects and asking the names of
objects that are known by children

B. Main Activities (25 Minutes)


1. Teacher introduce some kinds of household items
2. Teach children to mention household item and their uses, ex. Knife
for cut, kettle to boil water
3. Repeating the names of these objects so that children remember them
easily

C. Closing Activities (5 Minutes)


1. Repeating the name of household items that have been learned by
children
2. Conveys the message that is important to know the names of
household items so that children can help adults in household
activities
3. Each students to make pictures household items then submit them to
the teachers
4. Pray together and close the class

III. GAMES
A. Flash Card Game
1) Prepare flash cards according to the child's age and interests. For
example, if your child is learning letters, prepare flash cards with
pictures of the appropriate letters and words.
2) Show the flash cards one by one to the child. Give your child a few
seconds to pay attention to the pictures and information on the cards.
3) Invite the child to answer or explain the information on the card. For
example, if the card contains a picture of a broom, ask the child what
the thing is called.
4) Repeat steps 2-4 for each card until finished. Do not show too many
cards to children in one session. Start with a few cards first and add
more cards gradually.

B. Matching Game
1) Prepare some pictures of household items
2) Then paste the pictures on the board.
3) Write the name of the object in random form.
4) Then ask the students to go ahead and match the pictures with the
correct names of objects
5) And so on until all the pictures and names are matched up
6) To make it interest give a little prize to students who succeed in
matching correctly
