Curriculum Progress:
(_27_/_02_/_23_) This week, I have finalized the theme for the second class, which will continue to
focus on the pictographic nature of Chinese characters. The main focus of this class
will be on the origin and development of Chinese characters, highlighting their
decorative features. I am excited to see how the students will engage with this topic

Hours completed and explore the cultural significance of Chinese characters.

(amount of internship hours

covered e.g. 1 week fulltime Social Capital Experience and Reflection:

is about 40) This week, I had a valuable discussion with my colleagues about the previous cultural
experience classes held at the school and the expectations of parents. I realized that I
had not fully incorporated the practical needs of classroom teaching into my
curriculum design. Through my conversation with Ms. Hu, I learned to express my
ideas and actively explore opportunities for collaboration with my colleagues. I am
____36_______hours
grateful for this experience, as it has taught me the importance of considering the
practical needs of classroom teaching when designing a curriculum.

Practice made to the curriculum:

In the second class, I plan to provide examples of how Chinese characters have
evolved from pictographs to more abstract characters, helping students understand
the history and cultural significance of Chinese characters. Additionally, I have been
able to collaborate with my colleagues to address challenges in the classroom and
provide fun and engaging activities for the students.

Reflective Part of my Work:

Throughout this internship, I have learned the importance of incorporating practical
classroom teaching needs into my curriculum design. I have also learned the value of
collaboration and expressing my ideas with my colleagues. I am excited to continue
working on the cultural exchange program and hope to make a positive impact on the
students' learning experiences.
