Progress about my curriculum

(_10_/_04_/_23_) During this week, I made progress with my curriculum by finalizing the theme for the
fourth lesson. However, it conflicted with the design of the second to fourth weeks. To
maintain consistency and sustainability, I decided to shift the focus from China's
transportation, agriculture, and tourism industries to food culture. I delved deep into

Chinese typography with the development and evolution of Chinese characters. By
integrating images and graphics with Chinese characters, I aimed to help students
better understand and remember them using all of their language knowledge. This
approach is informed by the translanguaging theory of Garcia and Li Wei, which

possess in language learning.
Perspectives that I need to learn
Through this process, I also became aware of my own limitations when it comes to
innovative approaches to teaching Chinese characters. As someone who learned
Chinese characters primarily through rote memorization, I have come to realize the
importance of exploring the deeper meanings and connotations behind them.
International Chinese language education has opened up new avenues of exploration
for me in this regard, and I am motivated to continue learning and researching in this
area.
Reflection part of my work
In terms of my reflective work, I have made a concerted effort to be more mindful of
my own learning process and to seek out opportunities for growth and improvement. I
have also begun incorporating more interactive and creative teaching methods into
my curriculum designs, which I believe will help students better engage with the
material and deepen their understanding of Chinese language and culture.
