The Egyptians were a very important culture, with many achievements, culture

and a lot of history above all. But, to this day the Pyramids are the most
important achievement for the Egyptians. In the ancient Egypt the pyramids had
many functions. They were important politically, socially and religiously among
other things.

Politically speaking, they were invented for the Pharaohs to show power and
splendor city state, this made the empire more important, respectable and
feared. Its showed strength and organization. The pyramids, were used by the
pharaoh to distribute the roles of his subjects. Also, were used to avoid riots and
rebellious.

Egyptian society was formed like a Pyramid, the king, queen and the royal
family stood at the top. Under this part, were the other members of the upper
class, which included wealthy landowners, government officials, priests and
army commanders. The next level of the pyramid was the middle class those
were merchants and artisans. Below these, was the lower class (peasant
farmers and laborers). Egypt, like other cities in the actuality had a center where
there were hospitals, grain storage, bakery, social worshipping of deities, while
the pyramids were in the out of the city.

About the science and technology, this society has a lot of achievements. First,
they developed a calendar to help them keep track of the time between floods
and to plan their planting season. The Egyptians create their own calendar, they
divided it into 12 months of 30 days each and added five days for holidays and
feasting. They also developed as system written number for counting, adding
and subtracting. Scribes used ans early form of geometry to survey and reset
property boundaries after the annual floods. Mathematical knowledge helped
Egypt’s skillful engineers and architects make accurate measurements to
construct their remarkable pyramids and palaces. Egyptian medicine was also
famous in the ancient world, because the Egyptians doctors knew how to check
a person’s heart rate by feeling for a pulse in different parts of the body.

Moreover, the pyramids were important religiously speaking, because the


Egyptians had the belief that, when they died, the spiritual body would continue
to exist afterlife very similar to their living world. So, they used to preserve the
body of pharaohs and his family in these pyramids, and mummified a person
was a culture very important to they and when the people of the high society.
They are polytheists because they had many gods.

In terms of culture dealing with culture, the ancient Egyptians used the
distinctive script known today as hieroglyphs. Hieroglyphs were written on
papyrus, carved in stone on tomb and temple walls, and used to decorate many
objects of cultic and daily life use. They, first used hieroglyphs exclusively for
inscriptions carved or painted on temple walls. This form of pictorial writing was
also used on tombs, sheets of papyrus, wooden boards covered with a stucco
wash, potsherds and fragments of limestone. In addition, they tend to engrave
on papyrus the names of Egyptian funereally.
