Origins of Digital art
● Digital art was first introduced through an early painting program in the
1980s
● Frieder Nake created a computer algorithm that let a machine draw
shapes to produce artwork.
● Because computing technology was so expensive and heavy only research
laboratories, universities and large corporations were using it.
● Artist and computer scientists were programing their own art because
there was little pre-made programs and no user interface like icons or a
mouse. `
How does this change art?
● Anyone can do it and get paid
● Allows artists to create a piece that can be seen world wide
● Increases accessibility of art around the world

nft
“Non fungible token”

● NFTs are tokens that live on a blockchain and show ownership of unique items.

WHY ARE NFT’S IMPORTANT

● Tracking who owns a digital file is tricky because it can be copied and distributed
effortlessly so NFTs have a unique fingerprint of the file, a token name, and a symbol.
● NFT’s only show who has ownership over the digital art and it is stored in a blockchain
that the information can never be tampered with.
● NFTs worth are determined by the price that people are willing to pay for it.
● A person who has bought an NFT owns the original but the creator still has the
copyright and reproduction rights.
● You are able to sell your own NFT if someone find it of value
