Statement of Purpose

Engineering Technology is a term that nowadays fascinating a large number of young minds. The
fact that this genre of engineering is still not researched well enough, makes it more alluring. The
subjects that are being taught into this section of studies have attracted me immensely to delve into
it deeply. The coursework, proposed by our reputed college, has helped me hugely to grasp my
doctrine in the specific area of Engineering Technology since indulging into architecture is not
just my passion but it is also my forte. Though my under-graduation studies have assisted me
enough, I feel I can achieve further through my research under the special guidance of your
respected faculty.
Immediately after my high school, I have taken up my under-graduation course studies in the
specific field of Civil Engineering. I have taken up important subjects like Electives that I have
taken are Introduction to Structural engineering, Water Resources engineering, Managerial
economics and Financial Analysis, Design thinking, and Transportation engineering. I have done
my mini project on “Study of Pavement Design”. In this project, as a team, we looked at different
pavement design methods and learned how to use them effectively through proper design. I did
my Major Project, INDUSTRIAL BUILDING DESIGN AND ANALYSIS using STAAD.Pro,
which is an on-site project built in Banswada. According to the requirements, we decide the
dimension of the structure. We carry out load combinations according to Indian standards, focusing
mainly on the wind loads acting on the structure. Here, I learned analyzing and designing industrial
buildings using STAAD.Pro. Soon after completing my under-graduation, I have joined Sloka
Infra Projects as Revit Modeler. My work is about execution works of Revit modeling and
Architectural, Structural, Image digitizing, Feasibility reports, Projects coordination for
commercial office, Retail and Residential sub-division Projects. I moreover possess extensive
drafting experience in designing in Township, Multifamily projects and Residential projects.
More to mention, I received Certificate of Merit by SARASWATHI VIDYA PEETAM in
recognition of The outstanding performance and exceptional show of intellect at the seminar
conducted by YANDAMOORI VEERENDRANATH; bagged Certificate of participation in
Civilizations conducted by Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology; Certificate of participation
in Alfamatica conducted by Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology; acquired
Certificate of participation in “Walk for The Wrinkled Smiles” by Aasya Health Foundation;
achieved Certificate of participation in Civil Engineering Technical Events conducted by
Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology. Added to that, I am the member of CIVIL
ENGINEERING TECHNICAL ASSOCIATION (CETA) in our college. I have additionally
attended One week training program on STAAD.Pro and Etabs conducted by Department of Civil
Engineering at Osmania University.
The world is progressing in every aspect. My vision is to make a breakthrough in the engineering
field. Ordinary engineers only know the technical knowledge of their chosen field. The reason why
I choose engineering technology is to increase management skills and promote the development
of engineering field. In this way, we can complete engineering work and management work alone.
In my opinion, management means having strong leadership, teamwork, and project management
skills. Engineering Technology courses provide us with a deep understanding of the engineering
principles, issues, theories and implications. We have a thorough apprehension of how the
engineering process interacts with all aspects of business management. My short-term goal is to
pursue Engineering Technology in a reputed university like yours with suitable financial
assistance/scholarship and eventually, graduating with a good score. My long-term goal is to
secure a job and make use of Management skills in Engineering and I wish to grasp real-world
experience for few years before starting my own firm in India.
The American educational institutions have always pioneered research in my fields of interest and
being a prospective student for new challenging ideas, I believe that an opportunity for higher
education in the America would be a unique fortuity to test and prove my ability and also to enrich
and broaden my ken with transition to a new setting. My decision to apply to your honored alma
mater, Western Illinois University was after thorough inquiries from students already pursuing
their degree at the University and also from my own faculty members. A study about your
institution from the website also has helped me to find that yours is at forefront in research and
developmental activities and will bring my present knowledge into clear focus by introducing me
to advanced concepts and provide me with a proper direction to achieve a master’s degree.
In conclusion, I would like to mention that the essence of education lies in the synergetic
relationship between the student and his department. I feel that study at your Western Illinois
University will be the best logical extension of my academic pursuits and a major step towards
achieving various skills and objectives.I would be grateful to you if I were accorded the
