POLICY STATEME!
A planned absence or lateness must be reported to the employee's supervisor as far
in advance as possible. Unplanned absences or latenesses must be reported at
least by 09.00 a.m. on the absence day, or as soon as possible.
Notification from another employee or relative is not acceptable, except under
emergency conditions. Improper notification of, or an unacceptable reason for, an
absence may result in an unexcused absence charged to the employee. Failing to
report an absence properly can be grounds for disciplinary action,
An unsatisfactory attendance record will result in disciplinary action, including
suspension and discharge, as well as having an adverse effect on any promotional
considerations. Frequent absences may require documentation, including
acceptable medical statements from a doctor. In case of a long-term absence of
indefinite duration, the employee must report his/her status to his/her supervisor at
least once a week.
If any employee has not reported to work for three consecutive days without
approval or without any intimation to that effect, the company will try to connect
him/her to report to work immediately by an applicable way of communication. If
no response received for the fifth day of absence then will issue a letter under
registered cover / telegram by notifying a date to report (Consider the duration to
reach the letter) by mentioning if not reported on that said date company will
consider him/her as Vacated. Then, it will be considered the employee has vacated
post if no response. This will be notified to the employee by a registered post
letter.
Note: Absence includes late arrivals at work, as well as early departures. All lost
time on the job for unexcused reasons is subject to disciplinary action.
