1.Introduction (Font 11, for all the heading and subheadings)

The introduction presents the background of the study, introduces the topic, gives details on the research
problem, emphasizes the objectives, and gives an overview of the paper’s structure supported by related
literature. The document in MS Word Version should contain sections with orderliness: Title, Authors,
Introduction, Conceptual/ Theoretical/ Methodological/ Analytical Framework, Experimental Procedure/
Methods/Theory, Work and Financial Plan, References. Page margins are 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides, in A4
paper size and font size of 10, single spacing. Leave space of 12pt before and 6pt after every heading and sub-
heading. Leave space of 4pt before and 4pt after between paragraphs. Do not indent the first paragraph of every
section.
If a sentence starts with citing a source, cite authors' names in the text every time you reference them.
Tangcuangco, Henson, and Favorito [1] showed an example of how to cite a journal article. The objective of this
paper is to show how you prepare and format your paper following the STE template and the reference of this
format is based on the [1] template. There are proper ways how to cite references like journal articles [2],
journals in press [3], books [4], conference papers [5], and internal sources [1, 6].

2. Conceptual/ Theoretical/ Methodological/ Analytical Framework

Different types of frameworks can be used for different purposes. For defining and explaining the focus of the
study, a theoretical framework or conceptual framework can be used. For planning and executing the methods
of a study, a methodological framework and an Analytical framework can be used.

3. Methods
The Methods section of a research paper is like a blueprint directing to the substance of the research, guiding the
readers to understand how the study will be conducted. It also contains the essential details on the developments,
theoretical, designs, experiments, testing, and analyses of the study and helps the other researchers to understand
the study better. The manuscript may comprise text, equations, symbols, figures, tables, line drawings, and
photographs.

3.1. For Figure Presentation

All figures must be readable and are cited in the paper with Hindu-Arabic numerals by writing “Fig. 1” or “Figs.
1 and 2”. Place the figure caption (discussion) positioned below the figure/ drawing/ graph/ drawing (center-
aligned) as close as possible to the figure itself. Leave space of 6pt before and 12pt after the figure to distinguish
it from the other text.

Figure 1. Percent Voltage Unbalance at Different Scenarios

Capacitor value greatly affected the output line voltages of the phase converter and as the running capacitor
tries to correct the voltage unbalance [9]. Scenario 5 balances the output voltage of the phase converter and
operates at normal condition with 1.83% voltage unbalance which is accepted in compliance with the [31]
recommendation as seen in Fig. 1.

3.2. For Equations Presentation

Use standard Microsoft Word Equation Editor to edit your equations. Do not insert "graphically constructed"
equations. Equations should be numbered sequentially in the paper and are cited by writing “Eq. (1)” or “Eqs.
(1) and (2)”. Leave space of 6pt before and 6pt after the equation line to distinguish it from the text. The
equation in italicized form is to be aligned to the left on the line text while its number using Arabic numerals
enclosed in parentheses is to be aligned to the right.
The overload relay was computed using the formula for safety factors of motors [23]:
1.25 × full load current of idler and motor load (1)
In the study, overload relay was set to 4 A as the full load ampere of the motor. A phase monitoring relay that is
Phase Failure Relay (PFR) was installed with a buzzer to alarm if single phasing and voltage unbalance occur in
the system. Based on Philippine Distribution Code [31] section 3.2.5.2, the maximum voltage unbalance at the
connection point of any user shall not exceed to 2.5% during normal operating conditions. And the definition of
percentage voltage unbalance [32] is:
( Maximum Deviation¿average voltage ) ∙ 100
%V . U .=
average voltage
(2)

3.2.1. For Table Presentation

Do not embed "graphically constructed" tables. Tables should be numbered sequentially in the paper and must
be cited by writing “Table 1” or “Tables 1 and 2. Tables caption (discussion) are to be placed as close as
possible to table itself and are centered-aligned with table title positioned above them.

Table 1. Status of phase converter at different scenario.

Current (A) Voltage (V)
Scenario Remarks
L1 L2 L3 L12     L23 L31
1 1.9 1.5 1.3 230 216 202 Tripped
2 1.9 1.3 2.3 230 212 233 Tripped
3 1.9 1.6 2.1 231 233 242 Tripped
4 1.9 1.6 2.1 233 243 231 Tripped
5 1.7 1.7 1.8 234 235 241 Normal
6 2.1 1.3 1.8 232 222 241 Tripped

Line to line voltages and currents were measured on a 230 V single-phase input supply. It is observed that
every scenario, there was a constant speed in the motor at 1798 revolution per minute. After 3 seconds of
operation, the PFR tripped on Scenario 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. While, Scenario 5 has normal operation. It is shown in
Table 1; the normal operation standard deviation of the phase relay involves line current outputs of 5.77% as
seen in Fig. 5.

4. Work and Financial Plan

Presents a financial plan to identify possible expenses/ budget and a work plan to visualize the activity timeline,
target, objectives, tasks, and team members who are responsible for each area/ activity in an organized manner.
The Project Line-Item Budget gives details on the Personal Services, Maintenance for Other Operating
Expenses, and Capital Outlay to justify the cost of the project.
Edit and check the header and footer of every page of this template if it gives the correct identification of
your paper before submitting it to the RMO.
