The basic terms ofthis appointment are governed by the collective bargaining Agreement between Central Michigan University and the Graduate Student Union (GSU) which may be found oa the Faculty Personnel Services (FPS) website (htp:/ www. fps.cmich edu). For the full performance of your GA duties, you willrecewve 9 Stipend and tuition waiver benefit. The tution waiver benefit applies to courses taken during the semester in which your appointment begins through the subsequent summer sessions and i waived atthe standard, on-campus rate. Please reference the attached Benefit Summary to determine the tutton credits you are eligible for, based on your specific appointment level and term. You must submit on an online tuition waiver request to utlize your tuition benefit. Graduate assistants are classified as residents {USS} for tuition purposes, Primary Appointment Type | Teaching and Administrative Department assignment | School of Health Sciences ‘Department char/Director | Dr. Jeffery Betts Start Date | 05/14/2023 Term of Appointment | Summer 2023, ‘Appointment Level Percentage | 25% | ‘Stipend for full performance of GA duties | $1,719 J ‘This appointment is contingent upon your admission to Graduate Studies. You must register for and maintain a minimum of ix semester hours of graduate credit for each semester of your assistantship; maintain a 3.00 cumblative GPA in your graduate work; and suecessully perform your responsibilities as a graduate assistant as determined by your department. It is your responsibilty to consult the most recent edition of the CMU Graduate Bulletin for additional requirements governing your GA position. You will be responsible to the department chat/director. Furthermore, in order to comply with federal healthcare reform requirements, work hhours for non-benefit eligible employees are restricted to a maximum of 50 hours per pay period during the academic year. All assignments, including work for multiple departments or as a student employee, count toward the total hours worked. Ifyou fall to comply with the policies, practices, or regulations ofthe University including Graduate Studies, your home College and/or Department), your appointment may be terminated at any time by CMU. {All new graduate assistants ace required to complete an online graduate assistant training program which willinclude important Information regarding polices, services, responsibilities and training requirements. These documents must be completed and returned to Faculty Personnel Services (FFS) within two weeks.
