actively and brief on their assigned duties as per Muster List)

1028 - 1105 H - General alarm sounded and followed by a Drill announcement


via P.A. System ‘Abandonship drill’ from master. All crew proceeded to Muster
station to head count. 24 People was on the Muster Station and 2 people was
on the bridge. Duties and responsibilities of crew were reviewed. Verified the
equipment that they should bring during Abandonship. Donned their lifejackets.
Checked the lifejacket lights and whistle - all found working. All crew proceeded
to Lifeboat station for boarding. Familiarization of Launching procedures and
boarding arrangement carried out. Demonstration of starting of Lifeboat
engine. Engine tested ahead and astern propulsion. Steering tested hard port
and starboard. Main and emergency release system explained. All lightings
were tested. Lifeboat emergency lights outside were tested. All tests found
satisfactory and all in good working condition. During the boarding of the
personnel on the lifeboat, Second Officer, together with third officer tested out
the portable VHF Radio and the SART. All Found in satisfactory and in good
working condition. After the lifeboat drill, all crew proceeded to life raft stations
port and starboard for Life raft launching Training. 2nd Officer on the Port side
and 3rd officer on the Stbd.side Carried out life raft Training. Crew familiarized
the procedures and location. Drill ended.

Drill is efficient and procedures are as per VCM Checklist followed
Effectiveness/Performance of equipment. (Indicate also equipment tested)
Lifejacket lights and whistle tested. Engine tested ahead and astern propulsion. Steering tested hard port and
starboard. Lifeboat emergency lights outside were tested. All lightings system if Lifeboat were tested. All found in
good working condition. Portable VHF Radio and SART was found satisfactory and in good working condition.
Personnel Performance
Crew were pro-active during the drill and familiarization.
Effectiveness of scenario / General comments
Satisfactory and Deemed Effective.
Lessons Learnt
Reminded all crew to remove helmet & lifejacket before boarding the lifeboat. Helmets, lifejackets and immersion
suits to be place at the forward part of the lifeboat. Safety pin on release hook to be detached after drill or
maintenance.
