6 PANCH PRAN: Resolves for Developed and Resurgent

India

In his ninth consecutive speech from the ramparts of Red Fort, Hon’ble PM, Sh.
Narendra Modi Ji said it was a historic day for India and the completion of 75 years of
Independence was a time to step towards a new direction with new resolve.

He said we should focus on the five resolves –


1. A resolve of developed India;
2. Removing any trace of the colonial mindset;
3. Taking pride in our legacy;
4. Our strength of unity;
5. Fulfilling the duties of citizens with honesty,
which the Hon’ble PM termed ‘Panch Pran' (five resolves) to ensure a developed
India in the next 25 years, i.e in 2047.
In this context it is necessary that the youth of the country understand the context,
content and spirit of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s message.

1. A resolve of developed India- the journey of India from Azadi ka Amrut


Mahotsav to centenary of independence is termed as India’s Amrit Kaal as it
regains its rightful place as Vishvaguru by 2047. To enable achievement of this
goal, there is a need for the citizen of the country to commit themselves to be
part and contribute to make India a developed nation.
2. Removing any trace of the colonial mindset- As a nation with a colonial past,
the slave mentality and colonial mindset continues to haunt the psyche of the
country and has become an obstacle in the path of the nation’s development.
The citizen of the country need to rid themselves of any trace of colonial
mindset, if the nation is to swiftly progress towards its vision for 2047.
3. Taking pride in our legacy: An important prerequisite for a positive and
confident mindset among the citizen is to have national pride- pride it its
millennia old cultural and spiritual heritage, pride in or legacy and contributions
to the world and the pride in being the citizen of this glorious nation.
4. Our Strength of Unity: The nation as diverse as India is strong because of its
innate sense of Unity. The citizen should strive to understand, appreciate and
imbibe in them the various diverse cultural, linguistic and ethnic strands that
form the fabric of Bharat. Citizens of the country need to strengthen this unity
and protect the nation against disruptive elements that threatens it.
5. Fulfilling the duties of citizens with honesty: All citizen of the country need
to carry out their duties with honesty and be a responsible citizen. This single
minded dedication to commit and strive towards fulfillment of the duties as a
citizen shall form the central pillar that supports India’s journey in the Amrit Kaal.

The call of the Hon’ble Prime Minister on Panch Pran shall be widely
circulated among the youth. They shall take the Panch Pran Pledge, while
understanding the significance and committing themselves to contribute
towards India’s growth story in making in the age of Amrit Kaal.
