failing which, the respondent may have to be
punished and sent to civil prison.
To see if the respondent has complied with
this order, the matter(s) shall be listed before
this Court at the end of four weeks. In case the
amount is not paid orders of arrest and
imprisonment may be passed against the respondent
on that date."
The aforesaid order was passed in the presence of the
contennor/respondent viz., Michael Arul who was also
connected through the video-conferencing.
But today it is reported that the respondent has not
complied with the aforesaid order. Mr. Rohit Sharma, learned
counsel appearing for the respondent, seeks more time.
We have already given a long rope. The respondent has
not utilized the chances so given. Therefore, we punish the
contennor/respondent for committing contempt of this Court
and sentence him to imprisonment for a period of three
months in civil prison.
The present contempt petition is disposed of in the
above terms.
Pending interlocutory applications, if any, stand
disposed of.
