Trigana

Trigana bay is a beautiful beach in the Caribbean Coastline of Colombia. It is

located in the Department of Choco, which is part of the “Tapón del darién”. Trigana is a

touristic area, but it is not common than others like Cartagena or Santa Marta. This place is

special because the beach is very close to the forest, where you can find many tropical

fruits and animals.

To get to trigana there’s many ways, but the easiest and common way is going

through Turbo city. You have to stay early at Turbo’s dock at around 8:00 am, when you

are there, you will buy a boat ticket to travel to Trigana. The beautiful experience starts

when you get into the boat as you cross Uraba’s gulf, and this is really amazing because

you can see the different colors in the water in many parts of the area. You will see the end

of the Atrato’s river, and how the River’s water doesn’t mix with the sea’s water. In this

boat trip you will find many things, like the Uraba forest, the different beaches, and many

other beautiful aspects of nature. This boat trip takes around one hour or less.

When you are in Trigana, you will see many different hotels and camping areas.

Fortunately, all of these places are really cheap. Trigana can offer you many things,

including a relaxing life in this place, a beautiful sea, lots of good food, and many other

things. The people are quiet and kind with the foreign people. Trigana people will help you

all the time, and they will be so polite with you.

The water of Trigana’ sea is blue and green, which allow people to swim and dive

into it. The beach at Trigana is also known to have black and gray sands. Close to the

beach, there are not sharks or big fishes because Trigana is a big bay, so it separates open

sea from the beach.

On the other hand, you can go through the forest to visit Sasardi beach if you do not feel

like swimming. Sasardi beach is another area close to Trigana, and although it is a quieter

beach where people usually do not swim, you will be able to see many fishermen here. If

you want to go here, it is only a five minute walk through the forest from Trigana beach.

However, the forest is very wet, and you should protect yourself from the mosquitoes with

protective clothing and bug spray.

Trigana is a large Bay, so you can walk through it. This is a good plan to do in

Trigana; you will see many trees, different fruits and animals. You can also eat good dishes

at the many amazing restaurants such as rice with coco, Sancocho, variety of fish, and all

the food that the Caribbean people can offer. The only thing I would be wary of in Trigana

is the public water. I would recommend only bottled water at restaurants or fruit juices.

Even though Trigana is far away place, it is a worthy trip to make with family or friends.
