The database administrator will be placed in the Database Services team of the Bank IT Systems’
Division and will be responsible for administering mainly SQL Server databases.

The position will also assist with performing database optimization, ensuring database integrity and
availability, communicating with team members and business stakeholders, and meeting very strict
SLA’s.

This position will also participate in database design and have the responsibility for implementing
databases architecture.

He/she should be self-motivated with strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills,
and the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work both independently and in a team
environment.
Description

Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development
to mission-critical production systems

Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and
performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

Suggest database design improvements for performance optimization

Define database backup policies and perform backup/restore operations

Perform maintenance operations daily, weekly, and monthly for ensuring efficient systems operations

Interact with other database team members and cross-IT staff on support and project activities

Develop database utilities and automated reporting

Provide end-to-end technical support and problem resolution

Evaluate and recommend new database technologies

Requirements

Graduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or related


discipline

3+ years professional experience administering SQL Server 2012, 2014 or 2016

Strong understanding of database administration best practices

Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting
tools

Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server

Experience with backups, restores and recovery models

Knowledge of T-SQL

Knowledge of Windows O.S., clustering and virtualization architecture

Preferred Skills and Experience


Postgraduate degree in Computer Science

Experience in T-SQL query optimization

Knowledge of one or more of the following RDBMS: MySQL, MongoDb, Postgres

Familiar with SSIS, SSAS, Power BI

Knowledge of cloud technology
