ABSTRACT

Importance Of Yoga And Meditation: Yoga is a mental, spiritual and physical practice that
helps one attain inner peace. In today’s hectic world, more and more people are becoming
health conscious. In recent years Yoga has gained immense popularity not only in India but
also abroad. Today, people can choose to either learn Yoga or pursue a career in Yoga. A Yoga
instructor can be one of the most rewarding careers.

Meditation approaches have been classified in various ways. For example,


practices may be based on one or more of the following overarching approaches:

• Focused attention: The goal is to enhance concentration. Examples include breathing


meditations, mantra meditation, and candle gazing.

• Open monitoring: Rather than one focus of concentration, these approaches encourage people
to pay attention more broadly, noting what is happening with their thoughts, images, emotions,
sensations, etc. Vipassana meditation, which informed the development of Mindfulness Based
Stress Reduction (MBSR), is an example.

CREATING AWARENESS AMONG SCHOOL STUDENTS: Children and teenagers are


constantly developing and the changes they experience affect their bodies, minds, and
relationships with others. Yoga and meditation help them to grow healthily inside and outside.
Practicing yoga and meditation helps us to understand much better who we are, to stay in our
center, to seek balance and not to go to extremes.

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK-1
Before going to create awareness on yoga and meditation, we decided to have a
knowledge on yoga and meditation practically we did lot of research on benefits
of yoga and meditation on internet.
➢ we decided to visit the yoga centre to gain practical knowledge about
yoga and meditation.
➢ we visited nearby yoga centre with our team mates which is locating at
B.V NAGAR.
➢ We have taken permission from master to attend his classes with our
team.
➢ Next, we conducted a survey form the students and yoga master.
➢ We have the following queries which were clarified by the yoga master.
• What is yoga?
• What is the difference between yoga and exercise?
• How yoga different from meditation?
• Who is father of yoga?
• Does yoga needs any equipment to practice?
• How meditation is practiced?
• What are different types of yoga?
• What are the benefits of yoga?
• What are the consequences of practising yoga and meditation?

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK-2
➢ After knowing the knowledge about yoga, we decided to have a practical
experience about that for that we have visited a yoga centre, which is
located at Sanjay Gandhi Nagar.
➢ We determined to train up in that yoga centre under of coach named V.
Adi Narayana.
➢ The session began by the seeking the blessings of the Almighty by chanting
the Gayatri mantra.
➢ Asanas starting with warmup and stretching were followed by series of
Padmasana, Sukhasana, Tadasana, Bhujangasana and ending with
Shavasana.
➢ Exercises for relieving stress, reducing joint pain and enhancing the
flexibility of the back were also done.
➢ The session concluded with an interactive session between the coach and
us. The session was very refreshing, reviving and relaxing.
➢ We gained lot of experience in practicing yoga and meditation.

WEEKLY REPORT
WEEK – 3
Detailed Report:

In third week, we visited a school named Lemon tree international preschool, RDO
Office, Bv Nagar, Nellore. We took the permission from the principal of the school. Yoga for
children is a form of modern yoga designed for children. It includes poses to increase strength,
flexibillity, and coordination. The practical session began with an introduction to yoga and its
awareness. We physically demonstrated many asanas and physical exercises to keep a strong
and healthy body.

Then it is followed by pranayama or art of breathing. To keep the children


be focused we have distributed them balloons to blow them which is the part of breathing
exercise. The children took 20sec to blew the balloon. We explained the benefits of the asanas
they have practiced. We clarified every doubt of the students.

Health related concerns have risen in the nation observing past two years
because if pandemic. Now, everyone is thriving for a healthy lifesytle adpoting exercising and
yoga in their daily routine. According to the statistical survey 25% of the children are
undergoing obesity. The aim of this assignment is to create awareness amongst the small parts
of society about the importance of practicing yoga on daily basis and making their lifestyle
healthier. We ended the sessio by thanking the management for their cooperation.

WEEK-4

Detailed Report:

On week-4 our team conducted a group discussion. Based on the discussion we


come to a final decision that to conducted survey. As per the suggestions given from our
guide, we went to conduct survey. The address of the area where we conducted survey is
Mypadu Rd, Ram Nagar, Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, 524002.

CONCLUSION:

We came to a conclusion that most of the people are aware of yoga and the people who are
aware of yoga were not able to practice yoga due to lack of time and laziness.
