Assignment – 6

1. Why use stories in teaching young learners ?

Stories are a great way of teaching young learners new vocabulary and practicing
the grammar rules that they already learned. When young learners read or listen to
an interesting story, they are acquiring the vocabulary from the context, which
helps them remember the new vocabulary. As young learners love stories, they
remember the stories they hear or read. So, teachers can use stories to improve
young learners speaking skills by asking them to recall the story in their own
words. Moreover, stories are not only good for vocabulary, grammar and speaking,
but they also teach different cultures and some useful life lessons.
