The negative sign implies decrease in mass.

The physical meaning of the above equation is that the rate of mass out flow at the control surface is equal to the rate
of change of mass in the control volume. The above equation should be true for every point in the flow of fluid except
close to source or sink.The equation (11) is the Continuity equation in integral form. A differential form of Continuity
equation can be obtained by choosing cartesian coordinates.

Let us consider a paralleopiped shaped control volume with rectangular cross section. are the
sides of control volume. and v are the density and velocity of fluid at the center of control volume at any given
instant. The components of velocity v are along x, y, z directions.
