INTRODUCTION

After three year of studies in school of learnings, it’s all about lecture, reporting,
research, group works, assignment, quiz, and major exam, these are almost theory. But
this will help us to have an insight about the course that we are taking of. We learned
from it, it helped us to be prepare and aware of the possible job for the future, of what we
can contribute to the future organization which we work for?
On-The-Job training is a big challenge on the part of the student, and we can’t
skip this challenge. We have a lot to change for ourselves, we must be patient and adopt
the culture of the organization and most of all we should be willing to be trained with
supervision of the assigned person, because it’s a stepping stone to enhance every
student’s self-esteem and prepare him/her of an employee of the certain establishment.
The past learnings we had, should be applied to the real world of our profession or field
to develop and acquire new learnings. We OJT students are trained by the organization
where we are applied for.
Cantilan Bank Incorporated (CBI). An organization that is willing to accept
everyone who wants to be part of them. It was an honor to be part of this organization
who gave me a chance to have my training. I was challenged, equipped and molded my
character as a better person because they taught us differently.

OJT EXPERIENCE

I am much honored to engage and experience beyond my expectation as an on-the

Job Trainees. I am thankful for the organization that accepted my failure, trained and
equipped me to be a better person, enlightened me to make my mind sharp in making the
task, and made me productive person. I was able to enhance and develop my knowledge
in four years of studies as apply these theories during my training. I wasn’t expecting that
I have acquired knowledge more than I expected. By exposing us in real world of work
within three months I could say that there are gaps of learning’s rather sitting and
listening. I learn on actual work and it was different. I feel comfortable in dealing with
the staff, there was a good environment relationship inside the cooperative they treat each
other as a member of the family. They are all concerned in my outputs and my learnings
and no discrimination from other trainees and treated me fairly.
First day of duty, we are oriented by the Cantilan Bank Head-HRD Mrs. Grace
Naumi A. Lim. at first, I found it hard to interact with them knowing that they were
professionals and I’m just a student trainee. As time goes by, I found myself working
with them harmoniously and I felt comfortable talking to them because they are all
approachable and kind and they treated me as one of them. I learned a lot of things during
my OJT. I was not only exposed to actual office environment but also learned how to get
along with different kind of people. I gained more self-confidence and self-esteem.
Sometimes I failed to do the task but I took it as a challenge to improve myself every day
because it was a working progress. I also printed and photocopied office documents. And
I also learned how to process a loan and I experience loan releases. I could probably say
that I really learned a lot of things. I gained knowledge and I learned new skills. I can say
that this personal experience provided me with necessary skills that are essential for a
greater battle in the future. I learned that the most important thing in the workplace is the
attitude and in dealing with other people.

The whole OJT experience was really a worth-reckoning moment to be treasured

in my whole life. Experience is the best teacher and nothing compares to the lessons I
gained during my training. It may be hard at first, but once we learn to appreciate and
love what we’re doing it feels like we’re not working at all. It’s overwhelming that they
accepted me to be one of them and as a trainee, I felt happy and fulfilled knowing that I
did a great job and hoping that I contributed something good in the office.

PROBLEMS MET DURING TRAINING

During my On-The-Job training there were some circumstances that I’ve

encountered which tested myself on how to respond to a certain situation in order to
survive. Here’s the list of the problems that I encountered during my On-The-Job training
as enumerated bellow;
 Lack of self-esteem on the first week of training.
 Not expected to know everything in one day.
 When the portfolio of the client was missing, because of this, I must
tediously check every book.
 The last problem I faced was being unsure if I fully understood my
job.
