SUBJECT Holiday Homework:

ENGLISH
● Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands of India are considered to
be the major groups of islands lying in the Bay of Bengal in the Arabian Sea.
You could visit the islands virtually and gather information about them. This
information could also be gathered by paying a visit to the Bhawan situated
at Chanakyapuri.
● Create a PPT comprising a comparative analysis between the two islands
under the following heads:
○ Flora and fauna
○ Names of the tribes that are still there
○ Industry
○ Climate
○ Best time to visit
○ Education System
○ Important cities and languages spoken
● The PPT should be in not more than 10 slides and should be submitted on
Google Classroom. The presentation will be a part of Internal Assessment
activity.
● Please note that it is to be done in pairs. The presentation will be made in
pairs, wherein the two students, after researching on the above details, will
create dialogues and present them in front of the class.

Vernacular Architecture: Andaman and Nicobar Islands

Andaman & Nicobar Islands are located around 1,400 km away from the east coast
of India. They have tourist beaches, ponds and also a fragment of history. The local
territory comprises 572 islands, only 37 of which inhabit, and a few are accessible to
the visitors. There are six native communities of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands,
each with a unique vernacular architecture of their own.

Task –
1. Write a report on type of architecture assigned to your group.
 2. Make a model of the architecture.

3. Identify the 3-d shapes & 2 d shapes and write the properties of each shape
observed.
