2 GND Working voltage ground wire, i.e. 0V (the positive and negative
poles of the working voltage must not be connected
incorrectly)
3 VCC Common anode input terminal. The positive pole of the pulse,
direction, and offline signal is connected to this end.
4 DIR Direction signal input. High and low level control
steering. Hanging in the air is considered high level.
5 STP Step pulse input. The falling edge is an effective pulse.
Offline signal input. The rotor is in a free state at low

electrical levels; When high level or suspended, the motor is
controlled.

Attention:Connecting the wrong phase will permanently damage the

controller
The resistance between two leads in the same phase is generally less than
100. The resistance between leads of different phases is greater than a few
hundred K, which can be easily measured using a multimeter.

Warning: Except for the power supply and motor ports, the voltage of other
ports must be within the range of -0.3V to 5.3V, otherwise the controller will
be permanently damaged.

Special attention:
Unless otherwise specified, the use of control drive products must strictly follow the
usage specifications for one drive corresponding to one motor. Do not connect
multiple motors to one driver, and any losses caused by malfunctions due to
incorrect operation will be borne by the user.

Typical wiring legend.

The driver wiring is very intuitive. Users only need to connect the direction and step
pulse to the host. For customers who need offline functionality, they can connect
offline to the host.

Optoelectronic isolation input interface circuit

The driver can adopt two input methods: common anode or common cathode

Optoelectronic isolation common anode input

The shared terminal/anode voltage can be directly powered by 5VDC. When using
a voltage higher than 5V, it is necessary to add a current limiting resistor at each
signal end to ensure that the current passing through each LED does not exceed
20mA. Each signal port requires the use of a separate current limiting
resistor. Table 0-2 shows the commonly used supply voltage values and their
corresponding current limiting resistance values. (When calculating the resistance
value, note that the forward voltage drop of the photoelectric isolation emitting
diode is 1.15V.)

Optoelectronic isolation common cathode input

In most cases, the driver can also use a common cathode connection method. At this
point, the common anode input terminal can serve as the common cathode input
terminal. Because this type of driver adopts bidirectional input optoelectronic isolation, a
common cathode connection method can be used. At this point, the current flows in
from the STP/DIR/ENA port and out from the VCC port.
Under the common cathode connection method, each signal input terminal can be
directly powered by 5VDC. When using a voltage higher than 5V, it is necessary to add
a current limiting resistor at each signal end to ensure that the current passing through
each LED does not exceed 20mA. Each signal port requires the use of a separate
current limiting resistor. Table 0-1 shows the commonly used supply voltage values and
their corresponding current limiting resistance values. (When calculating the resistance
value, note that the forward voltage drop of the photoelectric isolation emitting diode is
1.15V.)

If the operating conditions of the device exceed the above "absolute maximum
value", it may cause permanent damage to the device. The above values are
only the maximum operating conditions, and it is recommended not to operate
the device outside the range specified in this specification. The stability of
devices operating at maximum conditions for a long time will be affected.

Function and use

Input power voltage
The internal power supply design of the driver ensures that it can adapt to a wide
input voltage range, and users can choose from each corresponding voltage range
according to their own situation. Generally speaking, a higher rated power supply
voltage is beneficial for improving the high-speed performance of the motor, but it
will increase the loss and temperature rise of the driver.
Automatic current reduction
The automatic current reduction function of the driver can automatically reduce the
current to about 50% of the set current when no step pulse is detected, in order to
reduce energy consumption and motor temperature rise. To use this function, turn
the dial switch 1 on the back of the drive to the "ON" side. On the contrary, switch to
the "1" side.
Output current selection
ISM42 can provide any adjustable current (peak) of 2.8A and below. When in actual
use, it is necessary to set Va according to the rated working current of the motor by
adjusting the resistance on the driver's abdomen as follows (the measurement
method of Va is shown in the figure below).
The mapping voltage Va linearly corresponds to a working current of 0.5-2.8A within
0-2VDC.

Note: When measuring Va, the dial switch 1 must be turned to the side of the
number "1" to prohibit current flow
Reduce by half, otherwise the working current will be twice the expected current. At
the same time, the power supply must be normal, and the motor can be
disconnected.

Microstep subdivision selection

This driver can provide five operating modes: full step, half step, 4 subdivision, 8
subdivision, and 16 subdivision. The setting is achieved through the subdivision dial
switch next to the front wiring terminal of the driver and the dial switch on the
abdomen (back) of the driver. The relationship between the setting of the
subdivision dial switch and subdivision is as follows:
