Upgrade and Configuration
1. Needed SW and cables
Free Ftpd server
Ethernet cables
Putty
2. TCU SW upgrade
First step open the free Ftpd and configure it as shown in below step
Select user after open it

Then add
Then set the login to tcu and authorization to Password stored as SHA1 hash with password
tcu and in the home directory select where you store the upgrade package and scripts in
your laptop then apply

Now new user is added
Go to sftp now

Change the sftp root directory to the same root of home directory in user then click start
Select status its must be the SFTP enabled

Connect ethernet cable from your laptop to LMT port in TCU
Configure the IP of your laptop to 192.168.1.2 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and
gate way 192.168.1.1
Open pu y selects telnet connec on and write the IP 192.168.1.1 as shown
Press enter to connect to TCU they will ask you to give the user name and password
use admin as user name and hidden as password after that you will login to TCU

Now write the command rev and press enter this will show you general information
about TCU you need only to see what the SW revision working in TCU from software
archives if you find the last 5 digits 183_2 this mean the TCU not need to upgrade
otherwise the TCU need to upgrade.
Use the below command for to upgrade the TCU

the TCU will restart and connectivity will be lost
login to TCU again and enter the flowing command

3. Upload Script for TCU
After you complete the SW upgrade for TCU login to TCU and use below commands to
upload the scripts (general form for scripts will be shared as XML file.)
You must set the free ftpd as in SW upgrade and put the scripts in the same path of SW
package.
Resettofactorysetting
This command will erase all data from TCU and the TCU will restart and connectivity will be
lost (note: the SW version will not be affected)
Login to TCU again and use below commands
Startsession 1
Uselocalsftp on
Download 1 s p://tcu:tcu@192.168.1.2/script_name.xml
Ac vate 1
Endsession 1
4. TCU Backup
To take backup for TCU set the free FTPd and login to TCU and use below commands to take
the backup
Startsession 1
Uselocalsftp on
Backup 1 s p://tcu:tcu@192.168.1.2/name_of_site.xml admin
Endsession 1
To check if the backup is saved in your laptop or not open the path that setup in the SFTP and
check the backup (note: the backup will be encrypted and unreadable)

5. TCU Restore Backup
To restore the backup for TCU set the free FTPd and login to TCU and use below
commands to restore the backup
Startsession 1
Uselocalsftp on
download 1 s p://tcu:tcu@192.168.1.2/name_of_site.xml
restore 1 admin
Endsession 1
