Topic: Euthanasia
Name:
Brayan Enmanuel Mairena Pineda.
Raquel Aracelys Gutiérrez Berrios
Organization pattern: Analytic
General purpose: To persuade
Specific purpose: To persuade about the importance of legalizing Euthanasia.
Central idea: We provide the key information to persuade to those people who
suffer from a serious, incurable disease with constant and intolerable physical or
mental suffering a new option to avoid suffering, always taking into account the will
of the person who wishes to apply said injection.
Introduccion:
At the onset of any disease leading to inevitable death, investigation is necessary
to let people know about the importance of it, therefore, looking forward to legalize
it. However, even when knowing all the benefits that euthanasia can bring to those
cases, many people are still against it, because of lack of information or moral
impediments, not letting the people who really need it to have access to it.
Body:
I. Euthanasia consists of providing an easy death without any kind of pain.
A. Euthanasia is a voluntarily accepted intervention that consists in having an
assisted death in a safe and controlled environment.
1. Euthanasia hastens death in extreme cases of pain due to an illness or
irreversible condition.

2. Being considered as mercy killing, it is performed by a certified physician in a

medical center.

3. Morally and socially, it is considered that every person has the right to make
decisions with aspects related to their lives, including death.

Transition: Now that I have informed you about what euthanasia consists of, let me
tell you some facts about it:
A. It was created in 1605 by Francis Bacon.
B. He first introduced the current concept of euthanasia: "the action of the
doctor on the patient that includes the possibility of hastening death."

C. There are 3 types of eutanasia.

1. Active (or positive) Euthanasia.

2. Passive (or negative) Euthanasia.
3. Direct Euthanasia.
ll. Why to be in favor of euthanasia
A. Even when there are lots of people in disagreement; there is a good
percentage of the population that agrees with this practice, with the argument
that it is being done to save people from pain; but also to avoid chronicle
illnesses to make more damage to their organism to a point of no return,
leading to a total disability and lack of autonomy.

B. In one country it has already been made legal, without worrying about abusing
of it or using it for incorrect reasons.

C. One of the biggest conflicts of euthanasia is the moral one, which consists in
having the belief that only God can take the life out of us. However, many
supporters of this practice state that this is not a moral issue but a public
health one, letting aside the religious conflicts top put the patient’s well-being.

Conclusión:
Now that you have received information about Euthanasia we could say that It was
invented in order to help patients who sufren from some degenerative, irreversible
and fatal disease, but it is also considered that using it is a form of homicide, since
it implies that one man kills another. In our opinion each patient to choose when
you consciously and individually want to end their life, considering that the most
important thing is the patient’s well-being.
