Simplification

Concentrate on a single subject

using a small field depth or
eliminating distracting
elements that can take the
limelight from your main
subject.
Filling the Frame

Move in closer to your

subject to strengthen
your composition. It
allows the focus to fall on
your subject.
Rule of Thirds

Following the Rule of Thirds

serves as the perfect
opportunity to shoot your
subjects from different
angles, allowing you to
capture more unique
images in the end.
Framing

This type of compositional

technique involves using
or adding frame elements
to emphasize and lead the
viewer’s eye towards your
subject or to simply add
interest to your image.
Color and Contrast

Another easy technique is

the use of color to create
stunning photographs and
strengthen the message
behind your images. You
can choose to include one
or several bold and
striking colors to make
your subjects stand out.
Leading Lines and
Shapes

Lines have a natural way of

leading the viewer’s eyes,
making them the perfect
element to help bring the
attention to your desired
focal points.
Asymmetrical
Balance

To achieve asymmetry, try

including two different or
contrasting subjects or
elements and place them
off center (following the
Rule of Thirds)
Depth and Layering

In this technique, your subject

can be either in the
foreground, the middle, or
the background, depending
on where you set your
focus. In case the elements
are fixed, a simple change of
perspective can alter the
layers in the background.

Carving

Carving uses the subtractive

process to cut away areas
from a larger mass, and is
the oldest method used
for three-dimensional
work.
Casting

It is a manufacturing process
by which a liquid material
is usually poured into a
mold, which contains a
hollow cavity of the
desired shape, and then
allowed to solidify.
Modeling

The artist uses modeling to

build up form with clay,
plaster or other soft
material that can be
pushed, pulled, pinched or
poured into place. The
material then hardens
into the finished work.
Assemblage

Assemblage uses found,

manufactured or altered
objects to build form.
Artists weld, glue, bolt and
wire individual pieces
together.

Dance x

creativity, including expressing
oneself in a free, spontaneous,
