Assumptions

and Nature
of Art
Arts is 01
Everywhere
”art is everything
everywhere…fashion..beauty…in
music and in words…art is the clouds
in sky…or the building i pass by…art
is passion and feelings…art is my 6
yrs old imagination on paper…his “I
heart my mommy” its all art”
— Masonya —
Art is everywhere. It is not just
found in the paintings hung in
the walls, the music that we
listen to, the plays that are
staged, the “teleseryes” or K-
drama that we watch.
02 Arts as
Expression and
Communication
“Art is a means of expression that
must be understood by
everybody, everywhere. It
grows out of the earth, the
textures of our lives, and our
experience.”
– Rufino Tamayo —
Art provides man the venue to
express, and in expressing, man
communicates.
Art as
Creation
03
“ The work of art is, above
all, a product of
creation.”
— Paul Klee –
Art is created by man. It is
created through his/her skills,
coupled with knowledge and
practice. It is the result of man’s
virtuosity.
04 Art and
Experience
“Art requires imagination. It
requires Creativity. Creativity
requires experience and
experience comes from your
life. And your life is expressed
in your art.”

- Bruce Lee -
Art as Experience indicates some
encounter with time that instils
knowledge , skill, and an
impression. In Art, both the artist
and the perceiver separately
experience the creative process
from two different points
Art and
Nature
05
“Art is born of the
observation and
investigation of nature.”
— Cicero –
Art is not nature. Nature is not art.
Nature may be the starting point
of art.
06 Art as
Beauty

“Art is beauty, the perpetual

invention of detail, the choice
of words, the exquisite care of
execution.”

— Theophile Gautier –
The interaction among the
elements of art such as line, color,
texture, sound, movement, and
size that gives pleasure to the
senses is referred to as the beauty
in art.
