REVISION WORKSHEET OF FINAL TERM

Name : Roll No. Class: VI A\B\C

Subject : Science REVESION WORKSHEET 2 ( PHYSICS)
Chapter : 4,5,6

UNDERSTANDING:
Q1) Why attraction is not a sure test for magnetism?

Ans) Attraction is not the surest test for magnetism because attraction takes place between the
unlike poles of a magnet and also between a magnet and a magnetic material. Repulsion is
the surest test of magnetism. This is because repulsion takes place only between two like
poles of a magnet.

Q2) Can the efficiency of a real machine be 100%? Why or why not?
Ans) The efficiency of a real machine is always less than 100%. This is so because some of
the energy is used in overcoming friction between the machine parts and is lost as heat.

Q3) In which direction does a freely suspended bar magnet come to rest? Why?

Ans) A freely suspended bar magnet always rests in the north-south direction.

This is because the magnetic south pole of the earth lies in the geographic north direction so
the north pole of the bar magnet gets attracted towards the magnetic south pole or the
geographical north pole of the earth.
The magnetic north pole of the earth lies in the geographic south direction so the south pole of
the bar magnet gets attracted towards the magnetic north pole or the geographical south pole
of the earth..

Q4) Give an example of a situation in which a force is applied but no work is done.
Ans) An example of a situation in which a force is applied but no work is done is a boy pushing
a wall. In this situation, the no work is done as the object does not show any movement in the
direction of the force applied.

Q5) Correct the false statements:

i) A screw is used to join two pieces together.

ii) The mechanical advantage of an inclined plane is more than 1.

iii) A Point source of light produces sharp shadows.

iv) When we pass electric current through a wire coiled around a magnetic substance it becomes
magnetized.

Q6) Compare between class II and class III lever.

Ans)
CLASS II LEVER CLASS III LEVER

.1. MA is greater than 1 MA is less than 1

2. Load is in between F and E E is between L and F

3. Effort arm is longer Load arm is longer

APPILICATION:

Q7) What kind of material will you use for the screen of a pinhole camera-transparent, opaque or
translucent? Why?
Ans) Transluscent material . Because it creates an image .

Q8) How will you increase the size of the shadow of an object due to a point source?
Ans)We can increase the size of the shadow of an object due to a point source by moving the object
closer to the source of light.

Q9) If you increase the size of the pinhole, the image becomes blurred. What is the reason for this?
Ans. On increasing the size of the pinhole, the image becomes blurred because the bigger hole will
form multiple images simultaneously making the image blurred.

Q10) Draw a labeled diagram to show the formation of total and partial lunar eclipse.
