Jordan Magnesia Company is a chemical plant for producing magnesium oxide commercially known as
Magnesia, located at Dead sea Jordan, the plant run for almost 4 years but after that and for financial issue
it was put out of service for more than 14 years until a completely new rehabilitation project start, I started
work in the company as an Electrical Maintenance engineer and then my role was to lead and supervise the
rehabilitation plan for plant electrical power system with the following task.
 Develop inspection, testing, preventative maintenance plans and troubleshooting for critical electrical
equipment, such as stacker, Reclaimer, ESP filter, Air compressors, high voltage transformers, RMUs,
switchgear, diesel generator, rectifiers, uninterruptible power supply (UPS), safety critical instrumentation,
And process control systems
 Advise management and develop plans for appropriate maintenance practices of electrical and control
systems.
 Complete commissioning for new variable frequency drives, DC drives and Emergency network (Generators
and UPS system).
 Review electrical equipment inspection data, direct corrective actions and develop equipment plans to
address long term reliability.
 Responsible for requesting and replace all defected items in the electrical power system.
 Design and manage small capital projects, including making electrical drawings, equipment specifications.
 Follow up rehabilitation plan and assign tasks for each group individually to ensure completing the job with
the specified time frame and manpower.
 Troubleshooting machines and analyze any failures after plant starting.
 Conduct root-cause analysis of electrical equipment failures.
 Attend meetings, write reports and make presentations to management.
 Assist the automation group in troubleshooting and maintenance and commissioning (DCS system based on
Emerson DeltaV controller).
 Support the team in testing, commissioning and replacement for plant instrumentation.
