Have you ever
felt hangry?
Yes, hangry is a real word - it’s in the
dictionary. This useful word which
describes the angry
feeling you get when you’re hungry, was
added to the Oxford Dictionary in 2018.
However,
it’s not a new word. People have been
using it since the 1950s.
Answer the following questions

1. What time of day do you usually get hangry?

2. How do you behave when you feel like this?

3. What do you do to stop the hangry feeling when you have it?

4. How can you prevent this feeling?

Spicy chickpeas
These are also great as a TV snack in the evenings. They are healthier than peanuts and one
serving of this low-fat snack contains 4.5g of protein. Get a 400g can or tin of chickpeas - some
people call them garbanzo beans. Put them in a bowl and mix with 1 tsp of vegetable oil. Then
add spices to taste - I like to use one tablespoon of chili powder and 1 teaspoon of cumin, but
you can also add black pepper, garlic powder, or paprika.
Put the chickpeas on a baking sheet and spread them out as much as possible so they all cook at
the same time.
Bake in the oven at 180ÅãC for at least 25 minutes until they’re dry and crispy. Let them cool and
put on a very little bit of salt before serving. They will keep fresh for a week if you put them in a
bag or plastic box.
