Last meeting, we discuss about the
different phases of the moon.

2. Review
To know if you really understand our
last topic let us recall, our lesson last
meeting.

“What are different phases of the (Student raising their hands)

moon? Anybody?”

Yes, (name of the student)? The different phases of the moon are new
moon, quarter moon, gibbous moon, full
moon and crescent moon.”
Very Good!

Why is moon important to Earth? (Student raising their hands)

Yes, (name of the student)?
Moon makes Earth a more livable planet
by moderating our home planet's wobble
on its axis, leading to a relatively stable
climate. It also causes tides, creating a
rhythm that has guided humans for
thousands of years. Without the Moon
stabilizing our tilt, it is possible that the
Earth's tilt could vary wildly.

"Alright! The title of our game is "Arrange

me". I will divide you into two groups,
each groups should have two
representatives to play the game."

I prepare here some pictures with a name

of the planets on it. All you need to do is
to arrange the proper sequence of the
planets in a solar system."

"Are we all clear? Let's start the game"

Yes, Ma’am.”
"To check if your work is correct. Let's
sing a song entitled" Planet order song".

planets Ma'am!"

Very Good!"

"What is a solar system?" (Student raising their hands)

“Yes, (name of the student)?” "Solar system is composed of the sun

together with the eight known major
planets and other celestial bodies that
orbit around the Sun.”
"That’s right!"

What heavily body is this?

(Student raising their hands)

Yes, (name of the student)? " That is a Sun Ma'am"

“Very Good!”

“What can you say about the sun?”

(Student raising their hands)

planets?”
“The students will give at least 3 primary
“Yes, (name of the student)?” planets.”
(Possible answer: Mercury, Venus, Earth,
Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune.)
“Very Good!”

SUN
The sun is the biggest heavenly body we
see in the sky. The sun is actually a start.
But it is very close to earth as compare to
the star we see at night. It is so much
bigger than the star. It is the nearest star
to earth. It is big ball of gases it gives us
heat and light.

PLANETS
Heavenly bodies that revolve around the
sun.

MOON
Heavenly bodies that revolve around the
planets.

Sun, planets and their moons together

are called SOLAR SYSTEM.

ORBIT
Orbit is a fix path on which the planet
revolves. Each planet has its own orbit.

What are satellites or moons of other

planets?
Heavenly bodies that revolve around the
planets, are called satellites or moons of
that planet. The heavenly body that
revolves around the Earth is called moon
or the natural satellites of the Earth.

Planets and moons do not have their own

lights. They shine when the light of the
sun falls on them. Only the sun and star
has their own light.

PLANETS

 Mercury
It’s the first planet from the sun, so
its closest to the sun. it is also the
smallest planet in the solar system.

 Venus
It is the second planet from the
sun. it is the brightest and the
hottest planet.

 Earth
Is the third planet from the sun. It
is the planet we live on, and it’s a
unique planet as it has life on it. It
is called the ‘blue planet’ because
one third of the surface of the earth
is covered with water.

 Mars
it’s the fourth planets from the sun.
it’s a rocky planet. It looks red, so it
is called ‘the red planet’.

 Jupiter
It’s the fifth planet from the sun. it
is the largest planet in the solar
system.

 Saturn
It is the sixth planet from the sun. it
is second biggest after Jupiter. It
has bright colored rings around it.

 Uranus
It is the seventh planet. It is very
cold as it’s very far from the sun. It
also has a ring around it.

 Neptune
It is the eight planet from the Sun.
So it’s the farthest and coldest
planet.

“So, why do you think, why is it important

that we know our solar system?

“Anyone?”

“yes, (name of the student)?”

“Very Good, in order for us to be aware (Student raising their hands)

on what is happening not just in our world
but also in the outside of our planet
earth.” “To be aware what is planets and what
happens in every planet.”
“That’s why many people conduct a
research about planets. If we investigate
other planets we can see whether there
are different objects we might not know
about, and it can help us to look after our
planet earth too! We will get more
knowledge about the planets around us.
Also, learning new things is really cool
and being able to use them to help our
planet is even better.”

sequence?” the solar system)
“Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,
Saturn, Uranus and Neptune.”
“Good Job everyone, let us clap our
hands!” (The pupils will clap their hands.)

2. Application
“Alright so since we are done discussing
the planets in our solar system, we will
have here a short activity.”

“I will divide you into 2 group. You will

draw all the planets based on their
sequence and you need to label it. Are
we clear? You have 10 minutes to do this.
You can start now.”
“Yes, Ma’am”
