The bill’s goal was to retain more experienced cops – who have been retiring in droves.
Hendry, who frequently goes to stationhouse roll calls where cops get their marching orders, implores his
members to vote for politicians who support them.
“Itdoesn’t matter whether you’re Republican, Democrat, Independent,” Hendry tells them. “It’s about our
profession. It’s about our livelihood.
“We want to become a political force so that the politicians know that if you’re not gonna support us, we’re
gonna vote you out,” he said.
About 55% of the union’s 21,866 members live in the city.
Hendry, whose parents immigrated from Ireland, grew up in Queens Village and decided at 20 to join the
NYPD, graduating from the Academy in 1994.
Prior PBA President Patrick Lynch, who was known to be combative at times, ran the union for a quarter century.

He started his career in the Bronx’s 46th Precinct and later worked in the 103rd in Queens.
But as a young cop with a wife who was a teacher he learned how difficult raising children could be for
working parents.
He also wants to improve female police officer’s maternity benefits and offer paternity leave to male officers.
J.C. Rice
She would then drive the kids home in that car and he would take her car to work, he said.
Former PBA President Patrick Lynch was the union’s leader since 1999.
Paul Martinka
He’s hoping to provide his members with universal paid parental leave, which would give male cops
paternity leave if they want and pump up the benefits that moms receive. it
Expanding a pilot program that gives cops longer shifts with more days off is also on Hendry’s wish list.
Even though the PBA won raises in its April contract — retroactive to 2017 and going through 2025,
ranging from 2.25% a year to 4% — Hendry plans to fight for more money for his cops.
“We still have police officers who work the same streets who get paid more than us,” he said.
“That’s state troopers. That’s the Port Authority. Our goal is to be the highest paid in this city — and
eventually, one day, the highest paid in the country.”

The Professional Bowling Association (PBA) needs to be REVAMPED IMMEDIATELY. I’m
CLEANING HOUSE.
The First Step:
Have a “Super Bowl” of Bowling, where there are 11 Players On Each Team, plus a Punter and
IE: The Teams play 11 Regular Frames, each Bowler Bowls One Frame, then:
Each Team has A Punter who actually Punts the ball down the Bowling Alley.
Then, in the Final Frame (the 13th Frame), a field goal kicker tries for a 7-10 split, but only
his feet to kick the ball. No “Bare Foot” Kickers would be allowed.
Each team would keep Bowling Games until 60 minutes has elapsed
After 60 minutes, whoever has scored the Most Total Points would be “The Super Bowl”
which makes more sense for BOWLING than Football, because it’s called The Super
BOWL Champion, not The Super Football Champion.

Will giving more money to law enforcement officers change the mindset of the woke
oliticians? Is that protecting your officers? No… it will just extend their time exposed to the
woke agender, that’s if the law officers survive.
Hey Hendry, keep pushing against the “revolving door” and other woke policies. Get law and
first then push for better benefits.

I'm not knee-jerk, "defund" the cops type. I believe that the county sheriff is a necessary evil.

aybe in a big city, also a few top deputies. Anything beyond that, e.g. the lumbering,
ureaucratic NYPD, is just Big Gov't which always delivers a low quality service at the highest
tax cost. I'd just arm and deputize every civilian. (Where I live, the militia fills the role
police backup.)
