All Caterpillar Batteries

This chart provides the needed information to charge, check and replace, if necessary, Caterpillar
batteries.

First, the battery must be charged. The charge rate cannot exceed the rate shown in the chart. Then,
the battery should be load tested at one-half the cold cranking ampere rate shown in the chart. The
procedure is explained in Special Instruction Form SMHS7633. If the battery does not pass the load
test, replace it with a battery shown under the heading "serviced by" in the chart.
