AND HOW TO AVOID IT


HERE ARE SOME INFORMATION AND GUIDE ABOUT PROCRASTINATION

I, like most people, procrastinates. The word


procrastination comes from the Latin pro, which means
“forward, forth, in favor of,” and crastinus, which means “of
tomorrow.” So, procrastinators are in favor of tomorrow.
According to surveys, 95% of people admit to
procrastinating, with about a quarter of these saying that it
is a chronic, defining characteristic. Examples of
procrastination can be, someone has a week to finish an
assignment, but they keep postponing it until right before
the deadline, starting that hobby you always wanted to try,
cutting out junk food we know is bad but continue eating
anyway, working out, learning something new, Letting go of
a mistake you made a long time ago and many more.

There are reasons why procrastination can be good. Procrastination brings clarity to decision-
making. Sometimes, delaying a decision can work to your advantage. Giving yourself time to
consider many opinions. Second, Procrastination may boost creativity. When you are
procrastinating, you subconsciously still think about it. This can lead to an innovative or creative
idea or a new way of doing your work. Procrastination can lead to prioritization. When you are
procrastinating, it gives you the time to prioritize. Many people are unable to prioritize but as a
procrastinator, you must. Prioritization is an essential skill that helps you focus on what is most
important and work from there. These are just some examples of why procrastination can be
good.
