HOW DO SMART TECHNOLOGIES

HELP DURING THE PANDEMIC?

During the current pandemic,

thousands of schools, teachers, and
students around the world have had to
move to remote teaching and learning
virtually overnight. While some have
benefited from educational continuity
thanks to educational technologies
and online learning, many still wonder
about the effectiveness and level of
engagement of this type of learning.

TECHNOLOGY IN THE

PANDEMIC

Science, technology and innovation (STI)

are crucial not only to face the COVID-19
pandemic, but also to move towards a
transformative recovery with equality

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY

INFLUENCE EDUCATION IN

TIMES OF PANDEMIC?

Facilitate distance learning. It favors

university education and adult
training, since it is easier to reconcile
work and family life when studying
remotely. It makes it possible to
interact and learn from various
platforms.

HOW DOES TECHNOLOGY ACT

IN THE FIGHT AGAINST

COVID-19?

Various studies have shown that

reliable access to oxygen can reduce
childhood deaths from pneumonia
by 35%. Given the shortage of
oxygen in many countries,
concentrators are an essential tool
for the treatment of patients
hospitalized for COVID-19.

WHEN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

COME TOGETHER TO FACE THE

PANDEMIC?

The production of alcohol gel, the

design of disinfectant barriers and the
manufacture of protective masks are
some of the projects in which students,
teachers and graduates of the Balseiro
Institute (IB) are participating, with the
premise of collaborating with
knowledge of science and technology
