THE SHUTDOWN OF ABS CBN

Showtime, TV Patrol, Ang Probinsyano and other popular teleserye are all available. A few episodes of
ABS-CBN, the Philippines' top television network, were listed. However, the National
Telecommunications Commission's cease and desist order that shut it down last 5th May, 2020 enraged the
people. It was therefore said that a congressional resolution for the renewal of the franchise was not
supported by any conclusive evidence, making the shutdown of ABS-operations CBN's clearly unjustified.

There have been many claims made about how the government is handling this matter in an unfair and
prejudiced manner. It is well known to the general public that the former president, Rodrigo “Roa” Duterte,
harbored anger for the network prior to the ABS-CBN franchise question. According to rumors, the main
factor keeping the renewal process from moving forward was a strained relationship between the network
and the former president of the Philippines. It is quite acceptable to inform the public about such a delicate
matter, if we are to observe appropriately. Everybody has a stake in the truth, regardless of who is engaged.
At the very last, the Law must be defended. While the country struggles with the COVID-19 pandemic,
there are times when people require important and timely information. In this fight, the media serves as
both our crossbows and our armor. The biggest broadcasting network is just what we most urgently need.
So, there should be no bias or discrimination in the way that the franchise for ABS-CBN is renewed.

Despite being told to stop broadcasting, the company continues to do so in the hopes of alerting the public.
This alone justifies not shutting down the network because there aren't many networks that are resolutely
committed to serving the public good and strong enough to survive the danger that they met in exchange
for the news they deliver to our fellow Filipinos. Let each of us be the ruler and decide whether justice is
served if those who need to construct the necessary defense for the good of our nation fail to do so,
especially if we know the truth and what needs to be done. Let us empower and abolish injustice in our
country to promote the welfare of our own people.
