Subject: Request for Increase in Menu Rates

1. It is submitted that M/s Fazal Din Caterer is providing catering services over the
years with entire satisfaction of the Express management. All our catering
services are being provided on nominal rates agreed long time ago and have not
been increased to this day. It is also informed that last increase in the menu rates
were back in 2013 and that too was only for one item I.e. Tea whereas food rates
were never increased to this day.
2. in this regard We submitted number of applications regarding increase in menu
rates in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 on different time fractions but it is
regretted that though these requests were considered and processed for actions
but due to unforeseen reasons failed to put into effect. Previously it was rumored
that the competent authority has approved our proposed Menu Rates but it was
never authenticated or implemented. Resultantly I have no option but to request
you again for increase in Menu Rates as proposed below for continual of quality
catering services.
3. The present rates are enforced for long time ago and have not been revised and
the expenses against the services currently been served has increased by
ninetyfold. For example, at the start of service the average salary of an employee
was Rs.6000/- which has now by increased to Rs.13000/- to Rs.15000/-,
besides two managers were engaged for Rs.8000/- per month and now each
drawing salary Rs.20000/- similarly Cook was engaged for Rs.12000/- and now
drawing salary Rs.20000/- per month.
4. The prices of kitchen commodities like tea, milk, sugar, rice, oil, spices, pulses &
vegetables etc are increased by more than 100% and it is becoming very hard for
us to manage and provide quality catering services. The said canteen service is
running at “Break Even” position and keeping in view of recent price hikes, it
would be impossible for us to keep provide quality catering services in existing
rates. Further the recent Milk scams of Liquid Milk has forced us to look for other
option i.e. liquid Fresh Milk, however, we already using quality Nestle Everyday
Milk (Dry) and Olper Milk (Liquid) both market leader and in terms of quality and
quantity, the prices of dry milk has increased by 200% which is affecting us
badly.

It is also submitted that we have been providing quality catering services to your
organization for several years now. Sir due to consistent increase in prices of Kitchen
commodities, we are unable to run the canteen with some margin of profit, as such we
requested your good self in our previous letters that we have been paying handsome
amount of tax from our subsidy payments which is affecting us badly. We therefore
have no option but to request you to please wave off this imposition of tax so that we
can manage/run the canteen in break even position. Previously 9% Tax was being
deducted from our subsidy bills but now the same has increased to 20% which is
unbearable for us. Hence loading of tax to organization is requested please as this step
will help us in tackling canteen business. This also used to happen in the past

In the light of aforesaid, it is humbly requested that under mentioned Menu Rates
be increased from July-2019 so that we can continue providing quality catering services
without any financial strains. I shall remain indebted for this genuine favour.
