PI finalizes FID for hybrid green ammonia

State-owned fertilizer firm PT Pupuk Indonesia (PI) said that it is currently finalizing
the final investment decision (FID) for the Pupuk Iskandar Muda (PIM) 2 Hybrid
Green Ammonia Project in Lhokseumawe, Aceh Province.
This was said by Satriyo Nugroho, SVP Business Development of PI at the Indonesia
International Hydrogen Summit 2023 in Jakarta on Wednesday.
“Currently, we are in the process of finalizing the FID, FS optimization, pre-FEED,
and JDA with partners. In 2024 or 2025, we hope we will be ready with the EPC
contractor. Then, to produce green ammonia in 2026 or 2027,” he said.
As reported before, PI had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
Japanese TOYO Engineering Corporation to jointly develop Pupuk Iskandar Muda 2
Hybrid Green Ammonia project, making use of PI's existing PIM-2 Ammonia-Urea
plant in Lhokseumawe.
