Qualitative research focuses on the distinct (naiiba) phenomena/ issues/


experiences / events

Qualitative Objective of the Study/Statement of the Problem – tell the readers what you are
attempting to “discover”, “generate”, “explore”, “describe”, “narrate”

Qualitative Research Questions:


 Usually starts with “What” or “How” & “Why”
 Identify the central phenomenon you plan to explore (express in your question what you
are going to describe, explore, generate, discover, understand.

Qualitative research questions often contain words like:


lived- experiences,
personal experiences,
describing
meaning-making
narrate stories

Avoid the use of Quantitative words such as: relate; effect; impact; cause; difference

Examples of Research Objectives:


“The study will describe the experiences of the selected families in Brgy. Tangub, on family-centered case
management in the context of community practiced employed by Kaibigan Foundation”.

Specific Problem:
1. How may the interpersonal and intrapersonal relationship in the family be described?
2. How do the families experience the family-centered case management?
3. What insights & implications to community-outreach practice may be derived from these experiences?

“Exploring the Brand Experience of Recoletos Education: An Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis”


1. How do participants make sense of their brand experience of Recoletos Education?
2. How does the researcher make sense of the participants’ insight of their lived-experiences?
