Class 8-Term 2
Subject: Mathematics
Topic: Functions & Graphs
Worksheet # 05-C

Student’s Name: ___________________ Date: ___________

Objective:

By completing this worksheet, you will be able to:

 solve simultaneous linear equations in two variables using the graphical method.

 The solution of a pair of simultaneous equations is given by the coordinates of point of intersection
of the graphs of the two equations

 A pair of simultaneous linear equations in two equations can be solved by

o the graphical method
o the substitution method (Done in Term 1-Worksheet 9A)
o the elimination method (Done in Term 1- Worksheet 10A)
 A pair of simultaneous linear equations has an infinite number of solutions is the graph of the two
equations are identical.

 A pair of simultaneous equations has no solution if the graphs of the two equations are parallel.

 Learn more about Solving Simultaneous Linear Equations Using Graphical Method from page 66
of D2 7th Edition.
