1. PURPOSE
The purpose of this procedure is to establish and maintain a system for describing
<<Entity Name>> methodology and process in:

 Identifying and complying to applicable OSH legal and other requirements;


 Inclusion of legal requirements into the OSH Management System;
 Access, monitoring and evaluation of compliance to legal and other
requirements.

2. SCOPE
This procedure is developed in accordance with the requirements of OSHAD-SF –
Element 9 – Compliance and Management Review, Version 3.1.

3. DEFINITIONS
Legal Requirement: UAE and/or Abu Dhabi Laws, Regulations, Decrees and any
Requirements adopted by an entity because of these Laws,
Regulations or Decrees. It also refers to any international
standards or treaties to which the UAE / Abu Dhabi is a
signatory, or which they have agreed in principle to
implement.

4. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

<<Entity Name>> is responsible for compliance with applicable OSH Legislation
<<Senior Manager>>
The <<Senior Manager>> shall have ultimate responsibility for the implementation of
the OSH Legal Compliance Procedure.
<<OSH Manager>>
Identify and ensure access to legal and other requirements.
Identifies, tracks and monitors legal and other requirements for work performed.
Provides updates and ensures accuracy and completeness of the OSH Legal Register, and
communicates requirements of changes to the <<Senior Manager>> and <<Employees>>
<<Employees>>
All employees shall be responsible for complying with OSH Legal Requirement.

5. REQUIREMENTS
<<Entity Name>> shall ensure that appropriate resources are provided to meet OSH
legal requirements.

<<Entity Name>> shall establish the means to identify and assess relevant OSH Legal
requirements.
<<Entity Name>> shall establish the mechanism(s) to ensure relevant legal requirements
are considered when developing OSHMS procedures, processes and programs.

5.1 Identify and Assess OSH Legal Requirements


<<OSH Manager>> shall identify and assesses all relevant Osh legislation that relate to
<<Entity Name>>’s operational activities, and record this information in the OSH Legal
Register.

5.2 Compliance to OSH Legal Requirements


<<OSH Manager>> shall ensure compliance with all the legal requirements that are
relevant to the its operational activities.
<<Entity Name>> shall establish the means to evaluate compliance to all OSH legal
requirements.
<<Entity Name>> shall consider applicable OSH legislation when assessing any changes
in operational activities. This shall be done during the Management of Change process.

5.3 OSH Legal Register


The <<OSH Manager>> will develop and maintain an OSH Legal Register that identifies
and lists the applicable OSH legislation applicable to <<Entity Name>>’s operational
activities. The OSH Legal Register shall contain the following as a minimum:
 OSH Law / Regulation full title, as gazette
 Applicable clause(s), article(s) or reference(s)
 Applicable process / activity impacted by the legal requirements
 Internal OSHMS procedure(s) / document(s) / reference(s) to ensure compliance
 Compliance monitoring requirements
The OSH Legal Register shall include, as a minimum, the following:
 Decree No. (42) of 2009
 OSHAD System Framework – version 3.1
 Federal Law No. 8 of 1980
 Ministerial Order No. 32 of 1982
 Ministerial Order No. 37/2 of 1982
The OHS Legal Register shall be reviewed periodically, as a minimum annually, to ensure
it remains relevant and appropriate.

5.4 Information and Communication


<<Entity Name>> shall establish a process to identify what legal information is required
at each level throughout the organization and how this will be communicated.
The <<OSH Manager>> will establish channels to communicate with all relevant
stakeholders of legal requirements.
