PSYCHOSOCIAL WELLNESS NARRATIVE REPORT

By: RICHELE R VALENCIA

It was last 24th day of May, 2023, I invited our well-rounded guidance counselor, Ma’am
Dawn Barrameda to discuss about Personality Development.
Our topic was about “There is Beauty in Pain”. I had Beauty and the Beast with Beast as the
example. Actually the beast is not ugly. It’s just that he hates himself looking that way that is why he
avoids people so he locks himself in the West wing. How sad it is that he grew up having parents that
neglected him since he was a child. He grew up with servants that is why parenting for him is having
all his requests granted. Nobody told him or have him felt what love was. There was longing that left
a hole in his heart asking “What it’s like to have a Mom or a Dad?” That longing turned into pain
which resulted to his aggressiveness just so he can have power and outdo others. If ever he is ugly,
then it’s not his fault. Nevertheless what made the beast ugly is he dwelled in his pain. Pain led him
to look down on himself and withdraw from people. You already know the story of how Belle and
the Beast met. But here’s the twist, it was not the spell that turned the beast into a prince. It was the
love he had inside of him that has been hidden for such a long time. This is the kind of love that
brings out the best in you. Your heart is always full so you share it to others as well. And that kind of
love is rare. Thanks to Belle, she awakened that love. And I therefore conclude, there is beauty in
pain.
Ma’am Dawn was also grateful with
the Gr. 11 Bechamel students’ active participation with the Beauty Rose Class Adviser for having
her and being our guest speaker!
