ON-THE-JOB TRAINING EXPERIENCE AT VIA JVJ TICKETING SERVICES

TRAVEL AND TOURS

A narrative report submitted to the faculty of the Home Economics, Vocational and
Technical Education Department, College of Education, Cavite State University, Indang,
Cavite in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree Bachelor of Science in
Tourism Management. Prepared under the supervision of Prof. Lyneth B. Perez.

INTRODUCTION

OJT is the short form for On the Job Training Program. It is the best way to

practice and develop your knowledge, skills, abilities, and capabilities in both the

mental and physical aspects. It also helps you identify all the things you can and cannot

do and be more skillful when it comes to your communication and ability to handle

things in some situations. On-the-job training helps you understand how your chosen

industry works and trains you for what a real job feels like. This helps you develop the

career path you chose. On-the-job training helps you learn firsthand because there is

a difference between learning in school and learning in an actual site or organization.

On-the-job training helps the students learn as they will be exposed to an

organization that is related to their course and learn from it. It will give the trainee much

more opportunity to understand the career path they’ve chosen. Other than that, they

will also learn to work independently and be more mature in handling some situations.

On-the-job training aims to let the students be more familiar with and aware of

what a real job looks like, such as: first, it aims to let the trainee learn more about their

future career, which can also help them be more aware in the real world. Second, it

aims to let the trainee learn about the necessary skills they need for their chosen field.

Third, it aims to let them be good people and develop good conduct inside or outside

of the organization. Fourth, it aims to let the trainee handle all the challenges they will

face in the workplace, and lastly, to impose professionalism in the workplace

Significance of on Importance of on the job training program.

The on-the-job training program is important, especially for those who want to

work in their chosen career. On-the-job training signifies a lot, such as: first, helping

the students become more knowledgeable in their chosen oath and career for the

future. Second, let the students learn all the skills they need for their chosen course.

Third, to let the students develop good behavior inside and outside the organization.

Fourth, to let the student be more independent, especially in the workplace. And lastly,

to let the students be more professional at work. Time and place of on the job training

The on-the-job training of the student start at March 13, 2023 and end in April 20, 2023.

The training ground is at the Via JvJ Ticketing Service office at Tierra Nevada, Phase

1 Blk 3 lot 1, Barangay San. Francisco, General Trias City, Cavite. The on-the-job

training schedule is from Monday-Sunday 7:00am-12:00pm.

Objectives of the On-the-Job Training

The main goal of on-the-job training (OJT) is to give trainees practical information

about a subject so that they can easily comprehend it realistically and put it into practice.

Although OJT may not always be a typical procedure in a firm, it may undoubtedly

assist any business increase its production and efficiency in some areas. OJT can also aid

the company in cutting back on traditional classroom training and associated costs.

The major goal of "on-the-job training" is to formally introduce students to a real-

world work setting. This will aid in examining the connection between college-level

knowledge and abilities and those needed in the workplace. Students are better equipped

to comprehend and meet market demands as a result.

Significance of the On-the-Job Training

OJT provides students with practical job experience relevant to their chosen field.

The students can carry out their daily responsibilities, take part in conferences, collaborate

with others, and go to seminars focused on certain industries. They get a deeper

understanding of the sector as they discover their roles and responsibilities.

Trainers must work with all stakeholders to help them comprehend the real training

requirements, the anticipated results, and how they connect with the overall objectives of

the business in order to get their support.

OJT offers a secure setting in which to make errors. Any training must provide the

capability for students like us to practice in a secure environment. Once they have

mastered a variety of work duties to a certain degree of proficiency, they may then be

eventually given additional duties related to the real functioning of the business.

Time and Place of the On-the-Job Training

The Via JvJ Ticketing Service is open Monday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00

p.m. and is located at Tierra Nevada Phase 1 Block 3 Lot 1 Barangay San Francisco,

General Trias Cavite. Their Facebook page Via JvJ is easily found and very accessible;

answers to inquiries are provided immediately. The company also accommodates walk-in

customers; they are very hospitable, they serve customers and assist them gracefully, and

they give the service to the client appropriately. They are easy to talk to, and the manager

is very approachable and kind to the trainees. The company took a positive approach not

only to its clients but also to its trainees; they ensured they gave excellent service for much

easier negotiation. Aside from that, they make sure that the trainees are well trained when

booking flights and auditing the sales for the month.

Rozalino B. Angeles Jr. founded the business on July 27, 2017, after recognizing

an opportunity to turn his love of travel into a successful business. A recently founded

small business called Via JVJ wants to give its customers the most cost-effective travel

options. The business is dedicated to providing enjoyable, hassle-free, exciting, and safe

travel experiences for its customers. In order to give students the opportunity to gain real-

world experience online, the company also places a strong emphasis on properly training

trainees in handling bookings, creating official receipts, and emailing tickets to customers.

Vision Statement

Via JVJ Ticketing Services is committed to making travel safe, fun, exciting, and

less-hassle free for its customers. It is through the fundamentals that the company aims to

grow and cement its mark as a travel agency of choice in the industry.

Mission Statement

We look forward to the future and envision Via JVJ Ticketing Services becoming

the leading travel agency in the Philippines. This means leadership is revenue and

profitability growth, sustained robustness, in operating cash flow, ever-increasing

customer base and a dedicated work force that is the envy of the industry.

Goals and Objectives of the Establishment

the Goal of Via JVJ Ticketing Service Travel and Tours is to Provide excellent

service to its customers and satisfy their booking needs. To build an exceptional

relationship between the client and the organization and to let the client experience the

most fun and affordable travel possible.

The objectives of Via JVJ Ticketing service Travel and Tours aim to provide the Following:

• To give a safe travel experience to the client.

• To provide the client with a convenient and affordable travel experience.

• To be the lead travel agency and increase the customer base of the company.

THE TRAINING AREA

This section will includes the training area includes the organizational structure and

functions, facilities, equipment and also the management who trained, informed the

students in their workplace.

Department Function

Via JVJ Ticketing Service Travel and Tours is a department Assistance software

that processes, manages, and tracks client concerns from entry to settlement.

Owner - In order to improve the effectiveness of their business strategy,

organizational performance, and operational procedures, as "advisory and/or

implementation services to the (senior) management of organizations."

Facilitator - The business is managed, guided, and planned by a facilitator to

achieve its objectives. To run a forward-thinking business, you need to be objective and

concentrate on the "business process" in order to effectively facilitate.

Admin Staff - Assures smooth transitions from one day to the next. They meet the

cost-effectiveness requirements of the customer while maximizing processes and

procedures.

General Manager/Facilitator - To achieve its objectives, the company is planned,

led, and managed. To effectively facilitate, you need to be objective and pay attention to

the "business process."

Creative Director - A person in charge of overseeing the production of creative

assets such as logos, products, and commercials.

Trainor - planning an organization's internal training and development. They must

assess training programs, determine the needs of the training center, and monitor

employee training, among other duties

Facilities

The Facility of Via JvJ provide a peaceful, and quiet place that is good as a training

ground for the trainee. Other than that it have an accommodating atmosphere and homie

ambiance for their walk in clients.

Via JVJ Ticketing Service Travel and Tours Implementing efficient maintenance

practices, energy-saving initiatives, and proper space utilization, organisations can lower

expenses associated with repairs, energy consumption, and unnecessary space usage.

Equipment

The equipment for accomplishing the task given to us is classified into two

categories: hardware and software. Hardware includes wifi, phones, laptops, and printers.

In our software, the trainees use the online booking domain via.com through Google and

open it using the account of Via JvJ Ticketing Office. For contact and inquiries the trainees

use messenger, Facebook Gmail. Additionally, we use pens, white erasers calculator and

an audit book for auditing and receipt checking for the clients.

Standard Operating Procedures

The company also accommodates walk-in customers; they are very hospitable,

they serve customers and assist them gracefully, and they give the service to the client

appropriately. They are easy to talk to, and the manager is very approachable and kind to

THE TRAINING EXPERIENCE

Task Performed/ Specific Tasks Assigned

The Training Area including the task that is performed or activity assigned

including the observe strength and the problem encountered by the trainee.

The trainer gave specific task to the trainee to perform, and these are the

following:

To book a flight for the clients, To make an monthly audit of sales, To make an

official receipt for the clients, To log the name of the clients into the log book,

Accommodate some of the walk in clients in the office.

Observed Strengths and Weaknesses of the Training Area

The trainee observe strength during on-the-job training (OJT) that can help him in

his future endeavor was that the trainee was a fast learner, he can easily understand the

trainer task. However the trainee this was the first time for the trainee in this field, he is

eager to learn and willing to learn more about the field. The trainee also observe the

training ground where he belong was full of wonderful people with positive outlook in life

that is why the trainee is motivated to do his best at work.

The trainee ran into various issues, such as a poor internet connection,

which caused the customer to get a delayed answer. In addition, the trainee

discovered that the auditing receipt he was provided was incomplete, with one item

missing. Despite this, they manage to repair it by locating it and adding it to the

auditing book.

Problems Encountered

People's travel needs are becoming increasingly diversified, making it

challenging to address queries. As a result, Via JVJ Ticketing Service Travel and

Tours work in a stressful. It is tough to deliver the greatest service and recall unique

client demands at times like these. Clients may be dissatisfied and upset if the level

of service is compromised.
SUMMARY

On-the-job training allows the student trainee to be more productive while also

improving all of the abilities he will need in the professional path he has selected. For him,

on-the-job training is a remarkable experience since he is able to learn more than he does

in school. The student trainee is humbled and appreciative to the owner and management

of Via JvJ Ticketing Service for providing him with the chance to improve his skills and

knowledge via the usage of their organization. He learned more about flight tickets and

how to utilize the domain for flight consolidators than he did from his professors in school.

However, the student began his 400 hours of on the job training in the private sector

on May 27, 2023 and he concluded it on July 9, 2023. He will be able to draw memories

from the entire event in the future. The Via JVJ technique, which involves welcoming the

trainee into an educational experience and treating them well, increases the trainees love

for the career path he has decided to follow in the future undertakings.

Overall, the student trainee worked very well with Via JVJ Ticketing Service Travel

and Tours, and he’s now has a favorable opinion of the business.
INSIGHTS

Everyday has served as my training ground for understanding how the professional

world will operate. But they have also made me feel at home in their workplace. The trainee

enjoyed spending time with them and learning from them. He was taught how to make

every aspect of our job relevant and useful, even when accomplishing easy tasks.

Additionally, they reminded me that working will be meaningless if you don’t enjoy what

you’re doing . even though he may have a routine that makes me feel lethargic, knowing

that they value their job makes me appreciate them and makes my work for them

meaningful.

The trainee learned a lot from working in a travel firm like Via JVJ Ticketing Service

Travel and Tours. He readily mastered the skills necessary to do the duties they provided

to him. He also discovered that he must carry out the responsibilities that were assigned

to him and that he should not be afraid to ask questions if he run into difficulties. There

were a lot of things he went through throughout this time.

While doing several projects and activities, he was able to become aware of his

talents and strengths. The trainee eventually discovered that he is using the lessons he

was given as a student through the learning process and the willingness to be open

minded. They provided him with a really cool and welcoming setting. They were honest

and respectful to him. The trainee assisted himself in giving his best effort because he

knew they had a lot of work to accomplish as well. He was able to examine some future

work to accomplish by comprehending and studying some of their works at the same time.
