1 PURPOSE

The purpose of this methodology is that to repairing of Concrete Surface with suitable
epoxy base compound and/or other suitable cementitous materials according to its
severity.

2 SCOPE

The Scope of this methodology is that to repair of cracks developed on concrete

Pavement during curing period of Concrete.

3 OBJECTIVES

Follow a uniform methodology for the repairing of concrete cracks by using epoxy and/or
other suitable cementitous materials to the site in a systematic manner.

4 RESPONSIBILITIES

• The responsibilities and authorities of Project key personnel are assigned as per the
project requirements mentioned in the QAP.

8.1 For Type A and B repair

Surface Preparation

 Concrete crack surface area will be cleaned and removed all loose
Particles, dust etc. with clean water.
Repairing

 Cleaning of the groove by using blower and compressor for

removing all the soil particles.
 Edge of concrete shall be sealed either by high strength masking
tape or by cement mortar.
 Masking tape shall be fixed at both the edge of the groove to
prevent the flow of material over concrete surface.
 The mixing and application will be strictly followed as per
Manufacturer recommendation and technical data sheet.
 The groove will be filled by Low viscosity epoxy and match with
existing concrete surface.
 After completion of repair work to required level and line,
immediately curing compound shall be applied.

8 SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

Since repairing operations involve considerable hardship, inconvenience and hazard to traffic
and also hazard to maintenance workmen, all possible precautions shall be taken to make safe
arrangement for hassles free traffic. Those include sign, red flags. Effort shall be made to
confine work in half the pavement width at time, leaving the other half for use by traffic. All
traffic arrangement shall be made as per IRC SP: 55. Personnel should wear PPEs during
work at site.
