JULY 15 Martyrs Anthem

On the fifteenth of July, martyrs do not die.

This nation does not go back on the word of its leader.

My Turkey will never forgive the traitor.

With the intention of the wedding, we go to death.

There is no stopping us from today,

We are all Mehmed, we are separately,

With bodies shielding tanks,

With the intention of the wedding, we go to death.

Even if the waters sleep, the enemy does not sleep,

For the sake of this homeland, eyes cannot sleep,

It is such an epic; never forgotten,

O Allah, Bismillah, Allahu Akbar,

My heroic nation waits in the square,

Holy duty, these good vigils,

JULY 15 EPIC

We walked to the squares on a night of revolution

When the sky is blazing above us

We multiplied with takbirs and walked endlessly,

We walked from the land and the sea at the time of the salute

We walked openly into the heart of darkness

NO WAY TO COUP ON THE WAY TO DEMOCRACY

Like departments, nations have character. The character of our nation is indeed our strength with
virtues. One of these virtues is to be willing to give up one's life to protect one's homeland when
appropriate. We have seen this high character of the Turkish nation many times in our extensive
history. The last of these is our Victory of Democracy, which we showed the nobility and unity of the
nation on July 15, 2016.

It is an epic oppressed by millions of young and old, men and women, Turkish nation, who poured
into the streets to attempt to attempt to do it on a July night that squints at the freedom of the
Turkish nation to live with democracy, the independence of the Republic of Turkey at home and
abroad, the peace and welfare of employment.

We did not leave our democracy to anyone that night. We could not leave the well-being and peace
of our nation to those who thought of coming to terms with the coup. We have once again
demonstrated the judgment of the Turkish nation to protect our faith, the beliefs maintained by the
nation and our flag, our independence and our state, guided by our elders.

HISTORY OF DEMOCRACY AND NATIONAL UNITY DAY

About 259 people were killed and more than 2,500 injured after a pro-terrorist military group
attempted to overthrow the President on July 15, 2016. This coup attempt was suppressed by
military units loyal to the government. The following year, the President declared that July 15 should
become a holiday known as the Day of Democracy and National Unity. It has since been viewed as a
public holiday

You are a hero of the country, a martyr of democracy.

You made history again, the world is witness to it

You created a miracle on the night of July 15th

You gave your life for the country, it wasn't beyond that

What kind of heart is that worth a thousand tanks?

Even death is angry, ashamed of you, death
