Nervous System is a network of organs and nerves that sends

signals throughout the body. It controls everything we do. The

two main parts of the nervous system are the central nervous

system (CNS), made up of the brain and spinal cord, and the

peripheral nervous system (PNS) which includes all the nerves

that goes from the skin, muscle, and organs to the spinal cord

and brain. PNS receives information when we taste something.

This message is carried to the brain called sensory nerves; other

nerves carrying messages from the brain to the body are called

motor nerves. PNS controls automatic actions like breathing,

digesting etc.

The glands of the endocrine system deliver chemicals called

hormones to various parts of the body. Pituitary produces

growth hormone. Pancreas makes insulin, nervous handles the

adrenaline. Thyroid is in-charge of metabolism. The adrenal

gland produces adrenalin that used in case of emergency. The

biggest gland which is pancreas produces insulin a chemical

that helps us use energy from the food we eat. Lastly, the

reproductive glands make sure that our body goes through the

changes of puberty.

The two systems work together to maintain vital bodily

functions, resulting in homeostasis, the natural balance in the

body’s systems.

The hypothalamus controls the pituitary glands, which in turn

controls the release of hormones from their glands that are

part of the endocrine system

The nervous system is designed to protect us from danger

through its interpretation of and reactions to stimuli. But a

primary function of the nervous systems is to interact with the

endocrine system to bring out chemicals that provide another

system for influencing our feelings and behaviours.

The endocrine system works together with the nervous system

to influence many aspects of human behaviour, including

growth, reproduction, and metabolism. And the endocrine

system plays a vital role in emotions. Because the glands in men

and women differ, hormones also help explain some of the

observed behavioural differences between men and women.
