Work Plan for the Formal Report

For this assignment, your group will submit an informal report outlining your group’s formal
report, the project timelines to complete the report, and a summary of your group’s progress
to-date.

Instructions for the Work Plan for Formal Report

1. Complete the work plan template for your project (below). Use complete and correct
sentences and include enough details so that the reader can clearly picture your plan.

2. Write a memo addressed to me summarizing your plan for completing your project on
time and the progress status. We will discuss further.

3. Use the direct approach for the memo as follows:

a. State your main message in the opening paragraph.
b. Provide details in the body of the memo of the date and time of the meeting(s);
names of participants and of any absentee members; a summary of discussions,
important decisions, and any votes; time of adjournment; date and time of the
next meeting; and any other information you deem important.
c. Use a positive close at the end.

4. Include headings or highlighting techniques if appropriate.

5. Attach your group’s workplan template.
