The bark
Oak bark has been used since ancient times in
tannery because it contains large amounts of tannin
very effective in skin processing.
The wood
Oak wood is precious, especially if it is properly
dried. Natural dry oak wood, over 12 years old, is
expensive, being used for luxury furniture, yachts,
constructions, etc.
GROWING
CONDITIONS
The animals in the area where oaks grow are generally mammals. Some of
them have precious fur. The bear is one of them. The deer is another
representative. Other animals that can be found in the Republic of Moldova are
squirrel, fox, hedgehog jder, rabbit, etc.
Birds: Woodpeckers, mountain cock, owl;
Insects: Ants, butterflies, mosquitoes and spiders.
Some oaks from the Republic of Moldova,
for example, the oak over 450 years old
from the village of Cobâlnea, the oak of
Stephen the Great was taken under the
protection of the state and declared a
monument of nature.
The oak of Stephen the Great from Cobîlea,
Soldanesti district is a secular tree, a monument
of nature of botanical type, taken under the
protection of the state on January 8, 1975.
