Assignment for Week 3

You are never alone. This is a saying I try to remember myself on a daily basis. Life can
be challenging but especially trying to navigate your academic, professional and personal all at
the same time in a new environment. By surrounding yourself with good friends, mentors and
professional you not only make it through but thrive as well. The Academic Coaching at
Stanford represents that professional aspect.

I often found myself facing procrastination and loosing focus in classes as weeks go by in
the quarter. As someone who likes privacy, I found the one-one unlimited meetings soothing.
There was no rush to finish by a deadline. Having a professional listen to your personalized
issues and give you tailored advice to your journey and that was the most important aspect. I
had the time to process the advice given to me and think about scenarios in my life where it can
be applied to. By talking through my academic history, I realized that I lost a good habit of mine
which was note taking. Note taking was a strategy that enabled me to stay focused on class and
remember more vivdly the details. However, with the emergence of zoom and recorded
lectures, I gave up this habit which ultimately led to me loosing focus extremely.

Stanford has numerous academic resources available for those wish for support but also
for those who face challenges. This tailored experience did not only help me unblock my
weakness but provides me with insight on my personal weaknesses.
