INSTRUCTIONS TO CENTRE SUPERVISORS OF 2023 0796 ICT PRACTICAL
1. GROUPS The practical exam shall be written in two groups; Group 1: Wednesday 10th April and Group 2: Thursday 11th April 2023. 2. CANDIDATE FOLDER The tasks for 0796 ICT practical are based on the files which is found in a folder named Candidate folder stored in the flash disks supplied. The Candidate Folder should be copied into the desktop of the computers of the candidates. When the candidates are seated, guides should be given to the candidates to rename the candidate folder to their full name. Any other work of the candidate should be saved in the candidate folder. 3. SCHOOL BASED ASSESSMENT Practical workbooks will be assessed by proof of mini projects (exercises) that have been done in some practical areas. An SBA evaluation form shall be used to forward candidates assessment. The evaluation form can be photocopied and filled by the supervisor for onward submission. A copy of this form is found in the storage media provided. This assessment form should be filled by the centre supervisor and attached to the candidate’s answer script. NB: Evaluate on 1 and 2 only. Leave out number 3. For candidates without any proof of projects carried out, the code SBA=NA should be written on the answer script. 4. PRINTING OF CANDIDATES’ WORK • Invigilators can provide assistance during printing without altering candidates’ work. • Candidates should ensure that all their work has been printed. • Great effort should be made to locate the work of the candidate. • The print out of the candidate’s work should be attached to the candidate’s worked script with a string and submitted. • Where no printout is necessary, the supervisor should write NO PRINTOUT below the SBA evaluation table. 5. CODING OF CANDIDATE SCRIPTS AND SOFTCOPY • Transfer all candidate folders to the supervisor’s machine. • Write a code (selected from the range of codes given on one of the disks) in the first page of the candidate’s script and rename this softcopy with the same code. E.g. code on disk is AX. First candidate code will be AX001, 2nd candidate AX002 etc. 6. BACKING UP • Copy all the candidate folders into the USB sticks. • Ensure that the code of the centre is written on the the USB disks. • Delete all folders from the candidate and supervisor machines. • In case of programming, the files of the source codes should be traced and deleted. 7. SEALING OF THE WORK SCRIPTS • Group the scripts according to the Attendance Register (AR) and seal accordingly at the end of the day. If you have 5 ARs, it means you will have 5 different sets of sealed envelopes; labelled according to the attendance ARs. • Ensure that the scripts of technical candidates (centre numbers begin with 2) are inserted in the special (green cover) envelopes provided. • Content of an envelope: candidate scripts, seating plan, return of scripts, absent sheet, the attendance reg. • Special report: the special report form is sealed in a different envelope (together with the script for which the report is made); and clipped to the envelope containing other scripts. • The USB disks containing the softcopy of candidates’ folders should be enclosed in a separate envelope and clipped onto the large folder containing work scripts. 8. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED BY SUPERVISORS • 3 copies of receipt of payment to chief of centre. • 3 copies of receipt of payment to invigilators. • Report of centre supervisor and report of Invigilators.
