Role Purpose

As an Enterprise Architect in, you enable business and IT leaders to make investment
decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and
opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. Furthermore, y ou
collaborate with other architects to provide technology guidance, road maps, principles,
standards, and best practices. You recommend and influence changes to technology,
service and processes. You contribute to change or transformation programmes throu gh
the preparation of technology plans.

Key Accountabilities

• Works on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge across


multiple specialized architecture domains.
• Ensures the conceptual completeness of the technical solutions and develops
technology plans.
• Contribute to defining, explaining, and advocating technology strategy.
• Promotes the EA process, outcomes, and results to the organization and senior
leadership.
• Leads and facilitates the creation of governing principles to guide EA decisio n-
making.
• Captures the exceptions to architectural standards at an enterprise level.
• Recommends modification of the enterprise architecture to accommodate project
needs.
• Advises Solutions and Technical architects on options, risks, costs versus benefits,
system impacts, and technology priorities.
• Works with the business to understand business technology requirements and
help them understand how different technologies can influence the business
outcome.
• Collaborate with business analysts to model business an d systems processes
based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data
models;
• Contributes to researching and evaluating emerging technology, industry, and
market trends.
• Consults project teams to fit projects to enterprise architecture and identify when
it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.
• Creates the Initial Project Evaluation document at the scoping stage of projects.
• Strategically architecting the integration of software programs, applications, and
third-party solutions as required to meet the business and technical
requirements;
• Contribute towards the development, documentation, and communication of
plans for investing in architecture, including analysis of IT application and
infrastructure portfolio and cost reduction opportunities;
• Provides cover to other team members and deputises for line manager as
directed by management, and makes decisions in their absence, when required;
• Travels as required by the business.
Skills and Experience

• Proven experience in complex enterprise-scale architectural design and


deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning.
• Experience in multiple and diverse technologies and information processing
environments, principles and practices.
• Experiencing in designing with modern software, protocols, standards, enterprise
architecture frameworks, architecture principles, architecture views, and security
and governance controls including for Cloud technologies, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and
network design solutions.
• Significant experience in designing solutions that operate across a variety of
platforms and technology stacks.
• Knowledge of software/system evaluation principles and practices;
• Proven ability to conceptualise flexible, reliable, supportable, cost -effective
(packaged and bespoke) IT solutions.
• Experience in developing strategic systems architecture plans;
• Can make effective decisions, explaining clearly how the decision has been
reached;
• Expertise in all components of holistic enterprise architecture, business re-
engineering principles and processes, including knowledge of financial models
and budgeting.
• Have attention to detail and ability to QA own and other team member's work;
• Proficiency in reviewing non-functional requirements, technical documents, test
plans, business cases and relevant documents.
• Be aware of and keep up to date with evolving technologies and architectural
practices;
• You must have the ability to understand and resolve technical disputes across
varying levels of complexity and risk.
• Familiar with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
• Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly language

Qualifications

• University degree in the field of computer science/eng ineering/information


systems/technology management or equivalent experience in IT design and
development.
• Ideally, TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework certified.
• An architecture-level Cloud platform certification or equivalent is preferred.
