This method statement will serve as a minimum guideline to carry out the Analyzer
Installation for Hawiyah Unayzah Gas Reservoir Project Phase to ensure that the
work is carried out in accordance with Project Drawings and Specifications.
The following constitutes a list of terms, which have been used in this plan:

3. SCOPE
This method statement will cover Installation for Analyzer, Analyzer Shelter, analyzer
rack, gas cylinder rack and loose part material from the Vendor for Hawiyah Unayzah
Gas Reservoir Project phase.

5.1. Site Manager:
Site Manager is responsible for supporting and encouraging the related staffs and
workers, so as for them to participate actively as worksite. Site Manager is
responsible for implementation of HSE requirements.
Tools and equipment needed should be in good condition and must be checked by
Instrument Supervisor prior to use. These includes but not limited to.
6.1. Set of Instrument Hand Tools and Fittings
6.2. Bending and Cutting Machine
6.3. Threading machine with Tripod
6.4. Welding Machine
6.5. Chain Puller/ Chain block
6.6. Boom Truck
6.7. Hydraulic Pallet Jack
6.8. Electric Power Tools (i.e. electric drill etc.)
6.9. Knock Out Puncher with Hydraulic Foot Pump
6.10 Set of Termination Tools
6.11 Man lift
7. METHODS/ PROCEDURE
7.1.2. Ensure that working areas are ready for installation with respect to other
disciplines for the use of scaffolding materials (if necessary), affected equipment
and other existing facilities.
7.1.3. Review all references such as Approved for Construction drawings, layouts and
technical scope of work, work permit requirements, and work procedures.
7.1.4. Identify area classification and verify hazardous areas to be considered during
construction activities considering precautionary measures in using tools,
equipment and materials to be affected, making sure that all these items are
suitable and appropriate as per the area requirements.
7.1.6. Ensure that the work area is clean and free from foreign objects.
7.1.7. Safety aspects shall be discussed on daily basis to include associated installation
care needed. Refer to attached JSA.
7.2.3. Equipment received will be stored according to the installation schedule and
manufacturers recommendation.
7.2.4. Shelters should be covered with plastic sheets and all doors should be sealed
tight. All equipment parts must be kept in the unopened original shipping case with
all braces and plugs intact and shall be covered with plastic sheets.
7.2.5. HVAC air intake openings should remain covered to reduce dust, waster or other
unwanted entry accumulation. Sample conditioning system bosex and doors to
remain closed at all time.

7.2.6. Field equipment should be kept in their original packing and stored in roofed
warehouse.
The location, foundation, stub-up holes and embedded steel materials shall be
studied and checked as per latest approved for construction drawing. In case of
divergence or obstructions be found, site queries shall be forwarded to SECL for
immediate corrections and further instructions.
On pave foundation, shall be provided for analyzer shelter racks, and chipping of
concrete pave, levelling, grounding, grouting and setting of mechanical or chemical
anchor bolts including concrete pouring for box out (if required) shall be performed as
mentioned in scope of work and comply the “Procedure for work release between
Disciplines)
Check and confirm that the supports and stanchions are meant for the analyzer and
its accessories to be installed.
Install the required fabricated supports and brackets, sampling racks, accessories
and stanchions following the installation detail. Orientation shall conform to the
drawing layout considering access point, tubing route and service.
Install the analyzers and its accessories safely and securely so that excessive
vibration, temperature extremes and shock will be avoided. Provide allowance if
possible for the movement of analyzers and its accessories caused by seismic
loading, expansion and contraction caused by change in temperature and vibration.
7.2.8. Analyzers and its accessories shall be mounted as close to the process
connection as possible. It shall be properly located so as to avoid adverse effect
from drainage of condensate, water, or process fluids from adjacent equipment.
7.2.9. Install analyzers in a manner wherein it is accessible from ground level, using
ladder, platform and fixed walkway. Its accessories shall be near or visible to the
analyzer itself.
7.2.10. Upon installation, ensure that the analyzer and its accessories are levelled, aligned
and mounted properly before securing/tightening to its supports in accordance with
the hook-up drawing and specifications provided by SECL.
7.2.11. Install their nameplates considering its clear view. Identification tag shall be
installed at analyzer vendor. Fixing of the tag shall be checked at site.
7.2.12. Normal settings such as flow and pressure shall also be indicated. Provide
warning signs to remind nearby area for the protection of analyzers and its
accessories.
7.2.13. After final installation of analyzer, install sunshades and other accessories as
required in accordance with the latest approved for construction drawing.

7.2.14. Verify the tubing routes and install tubing safely in conformance with the
requirements of SAES-J-502 and SECL Project Specification. Continuous tubing
runs shall be used wherever possible to minimize the number of tubing unions.
Tubing fittings to be used shall be twin ferrule design as stated in SAES-J-502.
7.2.16. Place a chain or bar to hold the cylinder in position if required in the latest
approved for construction drawing. Multiple gas cylinders shall be installed in such
a way that removal of one cylinder won’t affect the function of the other cylinders.
Refer to SAES-J-502, sec. 6.4.
7.2.17. Observe proper care when removing or reinstalling analyzer for calibration,
replacement or repair. Ensure the correct set-up as per latest approved for
construction drawing be followed after reinstallation.
7.2.18. Retractable insertion probes shall be removed before leak testing. After leak
testing, analyzer sensing elements such as conductivity, chlorine, pH, viscosity,
etc. shall be installed if required as per latest approved for construction drawing.
Sample probes used to extract the sample from the process lines shall be installed
after hydro testing of the lines (if required).
7.2.19. QC inspector shall conduct inspection and acceptance for local instruments
installed to be filed and recorded on appropriate approved forms.
8.4 Contractor has to utilize the applicable inspection and test form reflected on approved
SATIP.
8.5 SY QC Inspector, who conducts surveillance and inspection, shall coordinate to SECL and
Saudi Aramco Representative.
8.8 Conform to the cable gland material inspection period to glanding in the instruments. Cable
termination box and tubing fittings shall be carefully open/ close for the thread damage.

10.1 Obtain necessary work permits from the concerned SECL Representative intended for the
job before starting any work.

10.2 Conduct proper preparation to include required safety equipment and tools for the
commencement of the work.
10.3 Activities shall be executed in accordance with this procedure and related standards and
specifications.
10.4 Provide warning sign and sufficient barricade on working area. Only assigned personnel will
be allowed in the area to maintain a safe work environment.
10.5 Conduct safety briefing to all working crew to remind them of all the basic safety
requirements on the job to ensure safe work flow.
10.6 All necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) shall be provided and to be worn at all
times in accordance with site Safety Procedure.
10.7 Safety harness with double lanyards shall be used all the time when working at elevated
temporary platforms 1.8 meters high and above.
10.8 Continuous monitoring and inspection shall be implemented by the site supervisor/foreman
together with the assigned safety supervisor in the area. Any unsafe practices while
performing the work activities shall be corrected immediately to avoid stoppage of the work.
10.9 Good housekeeping shall be maintained throughout the work activity. The work site shall be
kept clean and safe.
10.10 Safety Supervisor shall monitor the work activities to help and protect all assigned workers
against exposure to safety hazards. He shall ensure that Personal Protective Equipment’s
(PPE’s) are supplied and worn at all times.
10.11 Proper tools to be used for the activities should have been checked by safety officer,
conformed to the designated electrical maintenance and tagged with monthly color code
tape.
