This paper consists of 5 printed pages.

INSTRUCTIONS TO THE GRADE 7 TEACHER

This scoring guide is for Part 1 of the Project work (Performance). Part 2 (Appreciation) will
be assessed in the written paper.

You are required to:

1. Read and internalize the Assessment Tasks and this Scoring Guide in preparation for
assessment.

2. Avail the Assessment Tasks to the Grade 7 learners at least three (3) weeks prior to
assessment.

3. Guide the Grade 7 learners through every step of the Assessment Tasks.

4. Schedule a day for the assessment of Task 1.

5. Set up an ideal environment/space, free of interruptions, for the assessment of this


task.

6. Use the Assessment Rubric provided to score task 1 as presented by each Grade 7
learner.

7. Record each learner’s scores on the Scoring Sheet provided.

8. Upload the learners’ scores on the KNEC portal as guided.

9. Ensure strict adherence to the assessment guidelines and timelines provided.

ASSESSMENT RUBRIC
1. Selecting the folk song (4 marks)
Use the criteria set in the rubric below to award scores to each Grade 7 learner during the performance of the folksong.
Award marks for each Grade 7 learner’s performance per level as follows:
Level 1 (Below expectation) - 1 mark
Level 2 (Approaching expectation) - 2 marks
Level 3 (Meeting expectation) - 3 marks
Level 4 (Exceeding expectation) - 4 marks
